The quality of excellent. The set is a great value because of the number of pieces in each place setting. I love the colors. Perfect for a new Florida home with a monochromatic kitchen. However, be forewarned the set is bright & busy. So dishes are best suited for casual use & will only look good with solids colors.
This is a beautiful set of china and very durable. Bought it for every day use but have used it for company. The price for this set of china is amazing. Everytning arrived in perfect shape - very well packed. If you want a nice set of china that ihas cheerful colors, this is it. You can't go wrong.
Why is it that when I respond to an email from Overstock or check their sales section I repeatedlyget a higher price when I get to the item. Please don't jerk me around. My time is valuable too.
I ordered this one because the company is located in my Hometown of Selb/Bavaria. My Father used to work for the previous owner/company under the name " Heinrich Porzellan Fabrik" before Villeroy & Boch took over. All my China is from my Hometown not only from Villeroy & Boch also from Hutschenreuther and Rosenthal.
These dishes are absolutely beautiful. They look much better in person then the picture. Before I bought them I went to a Villery store to see them. I would have bought them at the store but they couldn't match overstock's price. I received them about 3 days after I ordered them, they were very carefully wrapped to avoid breakage (my kids enjoyed popping the yards of bubble wrap!).I've only had them for a few weeks so I don't know how durable they are. I've been using them as my everyday dishes so they are always going in and out of the cabinet and dishwasher. So far so good. But I figure if one does chip or break, which I'm sure will happen at some point, I can buy individual replacement pieces through Villery.
