The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for value is that I have no idea what a Merino lambswool blanket should cost. Normally I wouldn't pay over $150 for a wool blanket. But I'd just gotten a credit through Paypal and had extra dollars burning a hole in my pocket.AND, I'd been looking for a good quality wool blanket, especially after my last one pilled up on me and is so small I can't even tuck it in at the the bottom! This new blanket is plenty large and has binding on all 4 sides. It is soft and warm and the chamois color is beautiful and goes well with my Arts and Crafts quilt. I won't even mind paying a dry cleaning fee because I anticipate getting many years of wear out of it.
Soft, warm, and not too thick or heavy, this blanket fits my king sized bed just right with plenty of fall on all sides. A soft wool blanket is a luxury I have wanted for a long time and this one is all I hoped for.
This seems a perfect mid-weight woolen blanket, without too much weight or loft. The tag says 'dry clean only' but I intend to wash gently in cold water when necessary.
This is a beautiful, quality blanket. I am extremely happy with it. The wool is thick and a bit fuzzy. It reminds me of a very dense mohair sweater. It creates an almost radiant warmth when you sleep under it, but the warmth is very "breathable". I am always cold at night but this blanket keeps me warm. My husband, who is always too hot at night, also loves it and never throws it off as he has other blankets. I ascribe this to the blanket's high quality natural wool fibers, which create warmth but allow air flow . The blanket is bound with a thick fabric, not that cheap "satin" that always wears out. After using this blanket I was so happy that I purchased a second one for another bedroom. However, I live in Southern California. In extremely cold climates where it snows it might not be sufficient by itself.
