Considering the prices I've seen on a lot of lamps, this one is definitely a great value. What I love about it is the finish on the base and finial. It's a silvery mirror finish with a coating of crackled glass. I've never seen this anywhere else. The picture does not even come close. It still seems shiny and silver but the glass coating with all the cracks gives it some texture. The round ball finial on top has the same finish and practically glows as it reflects light from the bulb. The shade is also very nice. It is made of a soft black fabric.
My only complaint is that the hardware didn't seem to fit together perfectly. The shade was very wobbly at first and wouldn't stay straight. I eventually got the top piece that screws in and holds the bulb and shade support pieces tightened up better. Every lamp could be slightly different in this regard. Also, the bottom of the lamp is bare, but came with a circular piece of felt. It could have come unglued from the bottom. I haven't tried to glue it back on. Instead, I just set the lamp on it.
Overall, I'm extremely happy. It looks very classy with my black furniture.
How often do you shop at Overstock.com? Few times a year
This lamp is difficult to remove from the box, needs to be assembled, and is wobbly. The crackled mirror look is really broken glass glued together, so one needs to be careful picking this lamp up to move it around or you will get glass shards in your fingers, and the top part of the lamp must be glued in place. It looks great, but overall I wish I hadn't bought it.
