I had been looking for some curtains /valance to match my black and white comforter set but just couldn't find the right one. Well this one turned out to be just what I needed to complete my bedroom decor. They arrived in about 2-4 days time and they were up on the window on the day of arrival.

I liked the valance because of butterflies I saw on it in the picture. When I received the valance I found it was much prettier than the picture. The only thing is that the butterflies attach to the valance with pins. I will hesitate to position the baby's crib right under the window where the valance is because of the danger of the baby (when she gets older and can stand) pulling on these ribboned butterflies and putting them in her mouth and possibly choking! Otherwise the valance is very pretty...

Extremely satisfied with this product. I had to buy 2 to cover my window, so they are slightly bunched, but they look great.

I LOVE this valance. I have it in my kitchen window. Everyone that sees it comments on it and asks where I got it. My kitchen has white cupboards, black counters and grey walls. Its a great compliment to the entire kitchen.

Lined, well finished, excellent seams, beautiful details with covered button. Hangs well on either a 2 1/2 inch or a one inch rod. It's hard to find black and white toile, usually it's black and cream and this is definitely white. One of the best made valances I have ever purchased at this price.

For hundreds of years, window valances have been a dignified and classic way to bring a strong sense of style into an entire room. The flowing beauty of a scarf valance adds character to home window treatments. With many ways to drape a scarf valance, it is simple to change the look in each room of the home. Hanging a valance and curtains over your window will add dimension, texture and style to any room. Window curtains with a valance give your window treatments a finished, designer look. If you want to block out light, a valance and full-length blackout panel curtain is your best choice. If you are more interested in decoration and only need to block minimal light, then a valance over sheer curtains is a good choice. It's important to measure the window and decide what type of curtains you want before you buy the curtain hardware. A cafe rod will be sufficient to support a sheer curtain, but you will need a stronger curtain rod to support heavier fabrics such as blackout panels. Also, the larger the window, the sturdier the curtain rod will need to be.
Window cornices are just one of the many window treatments that can make standard curtains a decorative fixture in the room. They are typically rectangular boxes that house a curtain rod or valance, but can also be found in different shapes, styles and materials. Cornices mounted close to the ceiling and covering the gap between the wall and window can make a room appear taller and more dramatic. To learn more about decorating using a window cornice, read on.
