The vacuum works great.....after I had to reshape the metal handle/hose tube. It showed up with a bend/dent that basically rendered the vacuum useless. Luckily I am good with wrenches and was able to reshape the piece to work. I suggest more careful handling and packaging by overstock.com Dyson's are amazing!

I love my vacuum cleaner so I had to have the attachments. I cleaned the kitchen light fixtures with the curved head brush and it took the dust and other stuff right off. I like that the head swivels and reaches awkward areas. The stiff brush was good for the tile on the bathroom floor; just picking up dust, fuzz, etc. I vacuumed a metal shade in the bedroom and the dust just zipped right off. I want more tools. I will buy more. This vacuum and the attachments make the chore of cleaning a little more fun. Now if they only came in colors.

I'm very pleased with my new little vacuum! After comparing vacuum brands and prices online, I found this Bissell was a great value for me. I have all hardwood floors in a 1,200 sq ft loft so the reviews concerning carpets didn't bother me. It has a great metal telescoping handle that should prove to be pretty durable and a nice long cord. I decided to go with the bag vs. bagless option because I hate the mess of emptying out the canister and I usually vacuum once a week so the cost of the bags doesn't bother me much as it will take me some time to go through the 6 that it came with. I also bought this specific vacuum for looks. It is nice and simple and looks like more expensive Miele vacuums with 1/4 the cost. My one wish would have been a better brush for the floor attachment, but it still works great. It is noticeably quieter than my old vacuum and has a varying suction feature, though I don't know why you wouldn't want as much suction as possible. Overall a great value!!

Cons: This machine is so heavy nobody wants to vacuum. The mechanism that holds it upright broke right away. The safety piece that lets it run broke. The none breakable hose cracked; as well as some attachments. The replacement parts are very expensive. Only cleaned as well as demo in the beginning. A pain to switch out attachments. I worry about it wrecking my hardwood floors due to its weight. Pros: We have done an enormous amount of remodeling over the 8 years we have owned this machine and the sander attachment is our favorite part. We have flatten stucco walls with it. Most of the dust is vacuumed up as you sand. The motor will last a lifetime. Metal parts are a plus. Belts are inexpensive.

My first impression of this vacuum came while I was unpacking it. I liked the color, a Candy Apple Red Metallic. When I got it unpacked, which was not difficult, I looked at the fit and finish of the vacuum's pieces / parts and did not notice any flaws. The color was smooth and even and all of the parts, plastic and metal, were nicely finished with no sharp edges or flash / burrs from the plastic molding process. And everything fit together properly. The friction fit cleaning tools are well made and finished as well, and everything connects properly and securely. A well made, solid vacuum. I can see why it has such a good warranty, and it is an amazing deal for the price. Note: you will need a flat blade screwdriver to attach the handle, but a quarter will work if you don't have a screwdriver handy. After using it extensively for several days I still like it. It is probably the quietest vacuum that I've ever used. I don't feel like I need hearing protection to keep from hurting my ears, as compared to many of the vacuums I've owned / used. The stretch hose does have a tendency to cause the vacuum to tip, or to "follow" me, when I'm using it at close to its full extension, but this seems to be typical for upright vacuums of this style. It does seem to be less prone to tipping than the other uprights I've owned / used, though. But, with the (VERY convenient) extendable main wand, which securely locks in place where you want it, and the removable extension wand attached, you do have almost 12 feet of reach. So using the vacuum with the hose fully extended was not necessary for me. And with the 30 foot power cord I could vacuum a large area before having to switch to another outlet which is real convenient also. The vinyl wheels roll easily on all surfaces, and quietly on wood and other hard surfaces, and it is quite easy to maneuver. The carrying handle on top of the tank is comfortable to use and the vacuum is well balanced at that point, making it easy to carry when needed. And the attachments all fit neatly in the back of the vacuum, with the Mini Turbo Head stored securely and unobtrusively on the side, so everything is always right there handy when I need it. After giving my home a good top-to-bottom cleaning, I'm still using the 1st bag and the Full Bag indicator still has not come on, the HEPA filter still looks clean, and the vacuum still has good suction. And speaking of suction, the adjustable suction control is handy for reducing the suction when needed. It was a bit stiff to work at first, but it has smoothed out with use and works much easier now. The bags, HEPA Filter and post filter are all easy to get to for changing when needed, and the slide latches on the bottom plate make removing it a breeze when you need to change the belt or clear a clog. No screwdriver required, and NO lost screws either! Another plus is that when the beater bar brushes wear down, you can replace just the brushes, without having to replace the whole beater bar assembly. The bottom plate has channels for edge cleaning on both sides, and they seem to work quite well, whether on bare floors or carpet. And the Prolux 7000 really surprised me when I used it on my one bare floor, it didn't throw crumbs and other debris around, but sucked them right up, something I've never had an upright vacuum do before. The only Con I found is that when the handle is in the low position, actually laying flat on the floor, which I need it to do to vacuum under my bed, the nozzle/beater bar lifts up just enough that it does not contact the carpet. You have to hold the handle about 14 in.above the floor to have the nozzle/beater bar be in contact with the carpet, limiting this vacuum's ability to clean under furniture that is low and/or wide, like my bed. All in all, I would have given the Prolux 7000 a RESOUNDING 5 Star rating, except for that Con. But, because of the way I use my vacuum, I can only give it a 4 Star rating.

Tried it out and it seemed very powerful for its size. Got this for my college student so that she would return mine. Haha. This one is better simply because the extension pole is sturdy metal.

My folks had a Generation 3 they bought 20+ years ago that we finally threw out last year. I kick myself a bit for not discovering sooner that you can send the old ones back to the factory to be reconditioned for a few hundred dollars. Buying it here, I did not have to go through the door-to-door home-sale experience and the price is certainly less than most people claim to have paid buying them new. Just like the one my parents bought, this is mostly made of metal. These are big, solid, and expensive by comparison with other vacuum cleaners. Assembly took ~5 minutes with a screwdriver to tighten the hook that the power cord loops over and everything else snapped together. I read one review that suggested there are two versions of Sentria which are identical, except for the bag they use. The one I received uses the 'F' bags. I have someone come help clean house, so I use it occasionally - it did not receive the cat's seal of approval. :-) It sounds just like the old one and works well. Power assist makes the weight not an issue when on flat floors (versus the stairs). This came with all the same attachments as the one my folks had, except for the sander and floor shampooer. (It's not advertised as coming with these in the description). So far, it's running well - purchased the extended warranty and have not used that. If it's like the old one (and sure seems to be so far) I won't need to.

I've always been a fan of Dyson's that is until I purchased my very first one. After taking it out of the box, I vacuumed for no more than 5 minutes before the roller brush jammed. I couldn't see any thing jamming it so I called customer support. Very friendly people over there, and 35 minutes later I had the brush rolling again. I finished vacuuming. 4 Days later I vacuumed the Bedroom. Not more than 5 minutes later the brush jammed on me. I did what I did while on the phone with customer support and I couldn't get it working again. Needless to say, I was very frustrated and immediate boxed the POS up and sent it back. I used my refund to purchase a SIMPLICITY vacuum that is made in the USA. This vacuum has all metal parts, a metal motor housing, metal gears, 12 amp motor. I picked up the stuff the Dyson didn't! I won't be a Malaysian made vacuum anymore, I will buy a SIMPLICITY.

It does everything that I need in a vacuum, very lightweight, moves easily, it has good suction, the bags are easy to remove and replace, it doesn't have an automatic cord storage function (manual wind) which my old vacuum had, the only thing that I wasn't crazy about was the vacuum head and extension wand, very lightweight and flimsy (some may prefer it this way) so I just replaced it with my old vacuums head and extension wand/handle (which is metal with a plastic head, much sturdier & heavier) and now its perfect! The rating was due to the extension wand and vacuum head, otherwise I would of rated it excellent. The cord storage function would of been nice too but not a necessity.

We opened our "refurbished" Rainbow Vacuum cleaner and found MANY things that were disappointing. The metal tubes to the power nozzle were bent and would not connect. This was not a shipping mishap as the tubes were wrapped and inside main package. Also, the hose connection to the main part of the vacuum did not fit correctly - it was very loose. It obviously did not belong to this particular model. My old rainbow hose snapped in correctly to our "refurbished" machine so this was definitely a mistake on someone's part. No warranty book or vacuum information was included. Very, very disappointed with the whole experience.

I was a bit anxious about the idea of a "refurbished" product, however when it arrived, there was nothing about the Dyson DC41 that gave any evidence that it was anything but "new"- from the box, to the packing, to the product itself, everything was in pristine condition. It's power, ease of use and suction are all as advertised and very impressive. If I had one quibble with the design and manufacture, it is, the feeling of pushing around an incredibly powerful engine in a plastic shell that doesn't do it justice. Clearly, were it made from more substantial material ( metal, titanium etc) it would lose it's ease of use and the price would be prohibitive. That being said, I am very happy with this purchase.

WAIT! A guy reviewing a vacuum? YUP! Consider it a shiny metal gadget! I recently purchased this vacuum when i moved into my new house. I was sick of spending $200 every other year on some piece of plastic that I'd end up breaking. I remembered that I kept seeing these metal vacuums at hotels and some of the B&B's that I've visited, and if it worked for THEM, had to work for me. I ordered one and it arrived packed like nobody's business! There was a whole box JUST for the accessories (most of which I haven't attempted to use yet!) This thing is HEAVY, which scared me a little, but the motor drive is fantastic!! When they say you can push it with two fingers they're not kidding!!!! Since I'm in a new house, I have NEW carpets. Well, does anyone warn you that new carpets shed worse than older ones? NO! (Guess what? THEY DO!) Before I finished moving in I vacuumed every room with the Kirby once with the wheels higher, and once lower. WOW! What a difference! It's amazing, when I'm vacuuming near the tile, I can see little bits of dust being sucked towards the carpet from 4-5 inches away! I've be soo impressed with this vac, its amazing! I've had a Dyson, and 2-3 Windtunnels and bagged or bagless, so far this Kirby trumps them ALL! I can highly recommend this vacuum.

I bought this little canister vac because I was tired of hauling my heavy one up and down the stairs. I have laminate upstairs and it works great for that. It's lightweight and easy to move around. The hose is a little stiff but I'm hoping it'll loosen up with use. Sometimes the hose comes off the metal wand when I am vacuuming but its not a deal breaker. It doesn't work very well on carpet or rugs so I don't recommend it for that. This vac came with a brush attachment that that doesn't fit, I threw it away and use the brush from my other vac. All things considered, I am happy with this purchase, it's a good little vac for the price.

This is the best vacuum cleaner ever made. My parents have had this machine for over 20 years. Basically I grew up using this vacuum cleaner. Knowing that this is a very well made product I decided to purchase a refurbished one on Overstock. There are a couple of reasons I went this route. First, it's more affordable (new ~$XXXX), and second I would never be able to stand a home visit from one of the obnoxious rainbow dealers. They are truly unbearable. So this was a win-win for us. There are a couple of issues we encountered with the unit we received: a metal wand was bent and had to be replaced (already received from Overstock) and one hose attachment was damaged (replacement in progress). Love this machine and was dreaming of one for a long time. It's a must for any pet owner. I never write reviews (always read them), but I do feel very strongly about the incredible quality of this product. $$ well spent. FOR SURE

I started a new job recently that's over an hour from home. My floors were being really neglected, and it was stressing me out to no end. I'd made fun of these little gadgets in the past but was finally willing to give ones shpt. I did quite a bit of research and specifically selected this one because of the programming feature. Overall, this was an amazing purchase. Does it do as good of a job as i could with my full size? Probably not. The difference is that I don't have time to run the big guy every day, but I can use this one daily. That makes a huge difference. This little guy also gets in places my big one can't (or at least not easily), gliding under the bed and couch. Because of this, I've noticed a pretty big improvement in my allergies. My only complaint is that I could have saved the money and bought the slightly cheaper model since i never use the programming feature. We have a coffee table with a round metal base, and the Roomba climbs up on it and gets stuck (sometimes leaving ugly gauges in the metal... Thank goodness it's supposed to look distressed anyway, otherwise I'd be pretty upset). In order to resolve it, I have to wrap blankets around the base so that Roomba "thinks" it's taller than it is and doesn't try to roll roll over it. That's kind of a pain, so I generally run it while I'm getting ready in the morning or at night when I'm cooking dinner or reading. It's not a terrible amount of noise when you're watching TV, but it can get on your nerves. Glad to have been able to buy this on Overstock! Price is about the same as other places, but with a coupon, my O Club rewards, and the shipping discount, I got a pretty great deal!

I knew I was not paying for a high quality product but it's amazing that $$$ (or thereabouts) doesn't pay for much these days and this is no exception. I have a 17 year old Oreck that works just as well but I bought this because the Oreck standup vacuum broke at the pole where the metal and plastic meet in the middle. I can still vacuum but have to hold the lower end of the vacuum. The advantage of the Bissell is the ability to reach under couches and dressers that a regular standup cannot. It's ability to pick up pet hair is average; my Oreck does just as well. The 'enhancement' advertised for Bissell is nothing more than a fabric pad similar to the pet hair removers you can buy at the store for $$$. Run it one way it picks up hair--run the other and the hair slides back off. I need to run the vacuum over the hair several times as it slides off and then gets picked up again but fails to be sucked up by the cleaner. The canister is not large but works well; I have a large dog and cat and need to change the canister every two cleanings but I'm fine with that as I'm saving on the bags. Finally, there is a 5" black cylindrical attachment (ridiculous) that you have to use to attach the various brushes to the vacuum. Well, I lost this attachment so have three useless implements and cannot use the cleaner to clean my couch, pillows, etc. Seems that they would design the attachments to be placed directly onto the pole end. I am going to try to get at least 3 years out of this 'investment' until I can afford a better quality machine. However, I will have to do alot more research because from what I've read, paying more does not necessarily mean better quality (re: Dyson).

Heat is your computer's number one enemy, which is why it has one or more fans to help push hot air out of the computer case and pull cool air in. Computer cooling fans are typically installed next to vents on your computer case, but your computer's processor may have its own fans and heatsinks, which sit on top of the processor chip. Dust and dirt then collect around the blades of each computer fan and may eventually cause the CPU fan to break or slow down. If any one of the computer fans breaks or slows down, heat builds up and may damage the processor or other components in the process. To protect your computer, follow these simple steps for keeping your cooling fans clean.
