Shark CV242 Professional Canister Vacuum Cleaner

I bought this vacuum to place and store in the downstairs of my home, to prevent from having to carry a vacuum up and down the stairs, as most would know that is a bit annoying. Also purchased this vacuum to access those hard to reach corners. Well, the vacuum looks very nice and I figured for the price it would work pretty good. I do not have any pets or kids and I live alone. I am a very clean/tidy individual and convenience is key. This vacuum, though looks nice and is affordable, has very little pressure. I think most with a home that has carpet, look/shop for pressure/vacuum suction power. I have had this vacuum cleaner for over 6 months and have used it twice. Not even worth reselling! Not a good purchase!

I do NOT recommend this vaccum due to the poor design of the extended hose. The 2nd time I used it the plastic cracked so I will have to duct tape the pieces together. Don't buy it!

I think that the suction of the cleaner is fine. However, I am dissapointed that there is no place to store or carry the attachments. Also, I though that the Rug and Floor attachment would be better. It is very difficult to vaccum the plush carpet. However, it works okay on berber carpet. I think that a seperate floor brush with bristles to clean non -carpeted areas would be better. I went to Shark website to see if I could order another floor cleaner brush but the have none. I think I made a large mistake in ordering this cleaner

Lots of sucking power and great for stairs but useless once you hook the floor piece on. will not suck the dirt off the carpet.

The extended hoses on this vacuum cleaner are made extremely poor. I have 2 places where the hoses meet that have cracked and now I have to use duct tape to hold the 2 pieces together. I have had this vacuum for only 5 months. DON'T BUY THIS ONE!!!!!!
