The Bissell 82G71 Momentum Bagless Upright Vacuum is a work horse! It picked up so much dog hair that my last (Oreck) vacuum was just pushing around. I love it! The price was right and I love how all the tools are stored right on the vacuum, making it very handy. I get my vacuuming done in much less time now!

I have always ordered ORECK products but was never happy with their handheld products. This ingenious piece of machaninery is incredilbe! It's easy to put together, charges quickly proving me wrong that I would NEVER buy a Dyson. I used it on my dining room chairs where my kitty sits leaving lots of cat hair, this gadget scooped up every hair, then on to the wood floors and all carpets. It was amazing how much stuff was picked up in the canister. I am sold!

I have only 2 suggestions to improve this vacuum. An auto-retracting cord would be nice, and I have a hard time keeping the attachments getting the attachments to stay in the holders. Even without these fixes, this is a great vacuum - even better than the Oreck I used for 15 yrs!

Wow. I've wanted a Dyson for a long time, but because I'm a" vacuum killer", I wasn't prepared to spend the %500+ to get one. I was amazed to see one at such a reasonable price here at Overstock, and after reading the reviews, decided to take a chance on this refurbished machine. I'm really glad I did. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, so lots and lots of hair to clean up, and I think it's the frequent use and all that hair that has shortened the life of previous vacs. The Dyson "Animal" vacuum handles it better than any vacuum I've ever had (and I've had 'em all; Hoover, Electrolux, Oreck, you name it). The suction is terrific, and the attachments are really cleverly designed. Took me about 5 minutes to snap together and start using. It's super easy to empty and takes hair off upholstery better than anything I've ever used. It's also fairly light and easy to carry. Can't see why anyone would pay full price, since there's absolutely nothing to indicate that this machine was refurbished

we had been intrigued with the "ball" design for many years but the price new was too expensive . A refurbished unit was priced right and the reviews along with warranty were also very good. It was easy to assemble and feels very high quality. This vacuum is only a few weeks old but it picks up dust n haiir (one cat) better than any other brand we have owned (inc. Oreck, hoover, dirt devil, shopvac. Very difficult to justify the cost of a kirby which may be the best on the market.)It is easy to empty and clean. the single ball is actually fun to use too as it maneuvers like nothing else. We hope it lasts many years.

Bought this as a 2nd Oreck for my tri-level house. Love the power of an Oreck. Great to have no bags to buy and replace. Don't forget to clean the filters. There are 2 and I didn't notice one of them until it was pretty dirty. Nice though that they clean right up and pop back in for the next use.

Out of town family coming to visit and the old Oreck upright just wasn't doing the job on the dog haiir. Enter, Bissell Opticlean Canister vacuum. Problem solved, as advertised!! What else is there to say! A welcome addition to my household tool kit.

I knew I was not paying for a high quality product but it's amazing that $$$ (or thereabouts) doesn't pay for much these days and this is no exception. I have a 17 year old Oreck that works just as well but I bought this because the Oreck standup vacuum broke at the pole where the metal and plastic meet in the middle. I can still vacuum but have to hold the lower end of the vacuum. The advantage of the Bissell is the ability to reach under couches and dressers that a regular standup cannot. It's ability to pick up pet hair is average; my Oreck does just as well. The 'enhancement' advertised for Bissell is nothing more than a fabric pad similar to the pet hair removers you can buy at the store for $$$. Run it one way it picks up hair--run the other and the hair slides back off. I need to run the vacuum over the hair several times as it slides off and then gets picked up again but fails to be sucked up by the cleaner. The canister is not large but works well; I have a large dog and cat and need to change the canister every two cleanings but I'm fine with that as I'm saving on the bags. Finally, there is a 5" black cylindrical attachment (ridiculous) that you have to use to attach the various brushes to the vacuum. Well, I lost this attachment so have three useless implements and cannot use the cleaner to clean my couch, pillows, etc. Seems that they would design the attachments to be placed directly onto the pole end. I am going to try to get at least 3 years out of this 'investment' until I can afford a better quality machine. However, I will have to do alot more research because from what I've read, paying more does not necessarily mean better quality (re: Dyson).

This model Oreck is my second and an upgrade from the one that I replaced. The vacuum is efficient and I look forward to many , many years of use.

I consider myself a neat freak, keep my home very clean and vacuum everyday. My previous vacuum was an Oreck. I can not believe how much better this vacuum performs and what appears daily in the canister after I vacuum. Highly recommend this item.

Our old vacuum (an Oreck) wouldn't pick up the pet hair from our long-haired cat (who has more hair than ANY cat should be allowed to have). I was absolutely shocked at how much hair my Dyson Animal picked up with just one cleaning. The canister was almost full from just the downstairs. Amazing!!! I wish I had gotten this vacuum a long, long time ago. I am thrilled with it and highly recommend it to anyone who has pets, especially long-haired cats! I am in love with this "Animal."

The Dyson Anilmal vacuum cleaner is unbelievable! After I assembled it, I decide to vacuum the rug in the den that I vacuumed with my Oreck yesterday. The canister filled so quickly. I was impressed with the suction power but I was appalled that the Oreck had not been doing the job. I went on to clean all the rugs. I had to empty the canister numerous times.I recommend this product highly.

This is a great product. You can spend a lot of money on a vacuum that just sucks but it won't get your carpet clean. Do some research and you'll find that the agitation is what pulls up the dirt from your carpet. So, if you've been using one of those "super sucker" vacuums you probably have a lot of build-up in your carpets. You'll be amazed!

Love this vacuum! Made me realize just how little my Oreck was picking up. Rather embarassing, the amount of sand, cat hair etc that it filled up with. Only complaint is that after two weeks, the belt broke, may have had something to do with accidentally sucking up a Santa hat. Overall, I've been very pleased.

This is THE BEST cordless vac I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot. I shouldn't be surprised because I've owned several corded Eureka vacs that were equally awesome. With a dog and four cats, there is always animal hair on something, and this little machine gets it all. In a pinch the other day, I actually ran the vac on the brush roll setting over my upholstered furniture, and it picked up a bunch of stuff. The vac is strong, quiet and the dust cup holds a lot. The charge lasts a long time, too. Day by day I'm using this little marvel for more and more cleaning while my big expensive Oreck and a couple of weak cordless hand vacs gather dust in the closet. Buy it. You'll love it!

We have always used oreck vacuums and this Bissell 82g71 is by far superb. The suction power is incredible and our house cleaner informed us that she had to empty the bin 4 times. That's how much stronger the suction power is on this vacuum. I would definitely recommend this Bissell vacuum as one of the best.

I have always owned Oreck vacuums. This works great but is a lot heavier than what I am use to. I have a cat and dog and it does clean up the hair mess. The collection area is very easy to remove and clean I really like this and Not having to purchase bags.

Love the way it vacuums all floors, from wood to carpet. Gets everywhere, picks everything up, and easy to use. I can stop when I need to and use the hand vacuum hose to clean hard to get to areas as I vacuum. The hose is a bit stiff and does not stretch out easily, but will work with it and try to learn easier way to use. Been amazed at how much this vacuum has picked up. We've owned Orecks for years and they have done a very good job with our carpets. The Dyson is picking up more than the Oreck, plus not discharing thru the bag back into the house. Much cleaner. Can tell by the canister when I dump it and the dust on my furniture that is no longer there. Very happy.

So far a great vacumn, it has a shorter cord and is heavier than the Oreck I was use to but is doing a much better job.

I bought this vacuum cleaner after the handle on my Hoover "snapped off". For the first time I did research before buying one, and I am SO glad that I did. I was impressed with the reviews and the price was good-if it worked like the reviews promised. It was delivered in 2 days which was great (normal for Overstock.com). It's very easy to assemble and a lot lighter weight than I expected. It has plenty of attachments (I am grateful-I bought an Oreck a few years ago and it didn't have ANY attachments, used only Oreck bags and was hard to push around) and the cord is long enough to clean most of my house without having to plug it in again. I don't remember reading that it was "self-propelled" in the reviews or if it's because it's so lightweight, but the Shark almost vacuums by itself. The head swivels which is quite handy in corners and around table legs. I have two long-haired cats and the amount of hair that was vacuumed up the first time I used the Shark was totally amazing (and embarrassing). I vacuumed my house every day for the first week I had the Shark and I continued getting dirt and cat hair out of my carpet, which is wonderful but doesn't say much for my previous vacuums. I have never been so excited about a vacuum cleaner before, but I've never had one that exceeded my expectations like this one has. The only thing wrong with it-it's a little top heavy when using the wand and can tip over if you pull it by the wand instead of the handle on the top. I wouldn't mind if the hose/wand was a little longer either but overall I am very happy with it and would urge anyone-especially pet owners- to get this vacuum cleaner. You won't be sorry.

This vacuum is better than my Oreck by far. I have never owned a Dyson so I can't compare the too. Being self propelled helps me a lot.
