We were a bit skeptical about getting this dyson against the other good ones(I would call them bulkier as compared to the dc44), but since overstock had a free return , we decided to try it. We live in a 1000 sqft apartment and space is always a constrain, so the fact that you can hook this up on a wall was appealing. So after almost a month of using this vaccum, we are very pleased with the purchase. Here are the only points which bothered us initially, but not anymore - 1. The actual time the battery runs - 20 mins(8 minutes in full power) - We certainly felt that 5 mins more on top of 20 would have made a big difference; however we noticed that since it is light and cordless, its easier to move around and we complete almost 90% of the apartment in about 20 mins. Now, since we vacuum about twice a week, there's not much dirt in the apartment and most of the times we finish our apartment in less than 20 mins. I would say that the ease of maneuvering this unit makes up for the less time. 2. The vacuum head is not wide enough - being a small vacuum we were initially feeling that the head being small, we take more time to cover a small area as against the wider head vacuums. However with use we noticed that the weight and the ease of maneuvering the vacuum (and being cordless) is much more efficient that the wider vacuum heads we had before. This is not a concern now. 3. You need to keep the button pressed for the unit to stay on - This was a big pain. But not a big concern after you get used to it. 4. Frequent clean up of the vacuum head - the only thing which still bothers me is that all the hair gets entangled(rolls up on the vacuum brush) in the vacuum brush after every clean. This does mean that I have to clean up the vacuum head brush after every run, but the benefits of the vacuum make up for it. I also think that this is the case with all the vacuums, but most of the vacuums do not make it so easy as dyson to keep your vacuum clean. I do not need to talk all the good things about dyson since they keep up to the reputation. But hopefully the above helps you with the purchase.

I bought this lift off bissell to replace the one I had for about 6 years. I really like the feature of the lift off canester. I have 4 cats, 1 dog and live in the country. This vacume takes care of anything. The rebfurbished price was great. I would recomend this vacume to anyone.

I have wanted a Dyson for sometime now but never wanted to spend $500 dollars for it. When I ran into a factory refurbished unit for 1/4 the price I thought it was a good deal. I would do it again in a second. This vacuum is brand new and works great. If I pull the vacuum out you would never know the differance.

I love this little backpack. The hose needs to be stronger I have to replace it, the hose is a thin plastic and tore. This Vacuum is used for my business and is very heavy duty it sucks up just about everything it is way. The hose needs to be a solid hard plastic and it would be perfect I was going to purchase 4 for my business but now I will look for one with a stronger hose.

Vacuum was purchased for my son when he moved to his 1st appartment. He said it was easily assembled out of packaging, houses all accessories, easy to engage extension rod & works very well. All 4 apartment mates are very happy with the machine.

I love this vacuum!!!!!! I would recommend anyone to buy a Dyson, I was nervous spending the money especially on a refurbished product but when I got it in the mail and took it out of the box you would never know that it wasn't brand new. It looked like it was brand new and it was very easy to put together. I have had this vacuum for about 3 weeks and can't believe it has taken me this long to purchase one. I even took it over to my friends house and couldn't believe the dog hair it picked up on her brand new carpet that she had only had 4 days. I have mostly wood and tile flooring and love the bare floor button that stops the brush from rotating so it doesn't scratch the floor, it works amazingly on my area rugs and furniture getting out the dog and cat hair. The only thing I would change about the vacuum is that the cord isn't as long as my other vacuum.

Once it was assembled I turned it on only to see blue/black smoke. The belt was stuck somehow and the motor melted the belt very quickly. I tried calling the service line, who then gave me a number of an authorized repair shop in my area, which was 1 hour 15 minutes away. The service guy told me to bring it in and he will then determine what was at fault. I went out and purchased the $4 dollar belt and put it on myself. The product is OK, the service is not. Find out if there is a service repair shop in your area before you buy. Also, I found that the vacuums at my local **** store looked like better models that did not cost that much more. Buy local.

I've had my Neato for about 8 months and it works great. I run it twice a week in my upstairs rooms (bedrooms and bathrooms). I wouldnt run it unattended, though. Sometimes it will get stuck on a cord or the edge of a carpet and it needs to be moved. I use a vacuum to clean the hepa filter and that keeps it going longer.

I purchased the refurbished Dyson DC25 Animal about a month ago. We've used it on the entire house probably 4 times now and it works great! I don't think it's too heavy to heft up and down the stairs, in fact it's less bulky than my previous vacuums due to the 'ball' design. We have 2 dogs and a cat and this machine works much better at pulling the fur out of the carpet than anything I have had previously. It was delivered quickly, but my only complaint is that the box was clearly labeled "DYSON ANIMAL", so if you live somewhere that you would have to worry about it sitting on your doorstep all day....you might want to have it delivered elsewhere. At this point my only concern is the lifespan of the refurbished machine, but for the cost savings I am willing to wait and see. Only time will tell.....

I was a little concerned about ordering a refurbished vacuum but so far, so good! I couldn't find a sign that it had been used, no scratches, looks brand new. I've only used it about 5 times but it works great and for the price, a good purchase.

We have 4 dogs & 3 kids with lots of friends in & out. This vacuum is great & the kids think it is fun to use (that's a perk I didn't expect!). The first time I used it I was shocked how much dirt & pet hair my old machine had missed. If you have pets & kids you need this.

I have 3 dogs coming in and out of the house. The Dyson picked up 4 canisters full of hair and dust/dander after I had just vacuumed with my Kenmore Intelliclean. You can't go wrong with this refurbished Dyson. Mine looked brand new! I've bought lots of refurbished items and have never had a problem with any of them. If you have pets, you will love this Dyson.

We had a vacuum from another brand that did NOT pick up dog hair at all. After receiving this vacuum, I was very pleasantly surprised by how much hair it picks up! Although the description said that all of the attachments were not included, I think we received 3 or 4 different attachments in addition to the pet hair attachment. We purchased the extra warranty through o.co, but so far I have had no problems with the refurbished item. I would definitely recommend to others.

After much research I knew I wanted a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Since I have 2 children, 1 dog and 4 cats, the "Animal" was my obvious choice, but the price seemed prohibitive. I was unsure whether a refurbished vacuum would live up to the mess, but I'm happy to say that it more than does. If it wasn't for the unmarked box, you would never know it's not a new vacuum. It looked, felt, and certainly performed better than I could have imagined! I could absolutely recommend this vacuum cleaner to my friends.

Pretty good vacuum, we've had it for about 4 months and it works great. In my house we have 3 women that have very long thick hair and we shed alot... this vacuum does the job.

I love my vacuum: it cleans the floors more regularly than I would on my own (though it leaves a little dust by the walls, which is easily fixed - though one of their more expensive models has a side brush for this), and its cute (when you bump it from its charger, it waddles back and forth toward it). After it has run, my hardwood floor looks noticeably shiny (not from polishing, just from picking up a half-week of dust and dirt). The vacuum does take some wear and tear after 2 years, and is slowly having more difficulty finding its charger port (solution: run it more often). It got something in one of its wheels and asurion took care of it quickly (they have a fast return). My only real issue with the product is that the battery connection has become loose. If I pick it up and move it for a "house cleaning" of a different room, then it might just run for a minute and then think it needs charge. If it was a battery issue, then a mere **** would fix it. But sitting at the charger for a minute makes it realize it still has a full charge and it starts running again (in "house clean" mode); hence a loose connection. Asurion failed to fix it with the wheel, and I've now been waiting 2 weeks for my second UPS shipping label while playing phone tag with the technician who looked at it last time (I've been accidentally hung up on during a 5 minute hold, without a call back; I've left a message explaining the issue without a call back, etc). Asking me to call back once is fine, but 2 weeks...? It feels like Asurion is stalling until after my 2 year protection plan is expired, or that they have some sort of "1 repair per customer" policy. In summary, I recommend the product but not the protection plan. If you can find a good protection plan elsewhere, then it would go nicely with the aging of the product.

Okay we decided to try the "world renown" dyson brand to see what all the fuss was about. We got the vacuum, assembled it and started vacuuming. Did i see any difference any difference? maybe ** difference from my pocket is about the only thin I noticed. we have had this vacuum for over 2 years and 4 days to the day now - i like to write reviews after ive had the things awhile to see where it stacks in comparison to our other brands we've been using. As far as the product ,We had the dyson for about 3 weeks when all of a sudden we smelled an awfult rubber electric smell coupled with a rattling\buzz, it wasnt a penny or a rock. something just gave on it and wasnt about to troubleshoot an item i just got 3 weeks ago. Overstock as always was great, they sent me a replacement unit next day. much quicker than my original shipment. Assembled it and have had it ever since. One thing I hate about the dyson vortex trap is that its constantly getting clogged up and have to change it. - now i can see if there was visible dirt there but there isnt. Maybe its the microscopic dirt thats plugging it up I dont know, but thats the point unless you can "feel" the difference dont bother. We bought the refurbished unit for ** which was smoking deal!! thats the only reason why we bought it, because any other standard brand would easily run more than that. Am i proud to have a dyson? uh No. Would I recommend a dyson? uh no. dont get me wrong folks try them out for yourself and you will see what im talking about. Would I buy another dyson? maybe, if the price is right, but thats only because they are just as good as your standard Kenmore - Dirt devils. If your a microbioligist then maybe you can bust out your microscope and review the dyson.

First things first: my mover STOLE my original Animal Vac, it's that good. He saw it in action, and somehow, after I myself placed it on the moving truck, it was missing when we unloaded at the new house. And I never heard from him again, despite several calls. That is the ONLY reason I had to get a second one; the first was still working exceptionally well, and I was beyond pissed at not having it at the new place. Now, for the review. I have three dogs - a Saint Bernard rough coat (long haired), a Newfoundland (again, long hair and double coated) and the Beagle. I *also* have 10 cats. And I have two horses. As you can imagine, tons of dirt gets into my house, along with a lot of shedding and hair from all critters. And since the litter I use is pelleted horse stall bedding (it absorbs incredibly well, and does not give clumps that stick to things), and it gets tracked all over this place. And most of the summer the windows are open, which allows tons of dust and pollen and various other things in...as you can see, I need a vacuum that will take care of business. I have all hardwood floors (except the bath and kitchen), so getting up the grit and whatnot from boots, paws, and other things which come in is critical in keeping them in good shape. I got the original vac 4 years ago in my old place, and it had carpet throughout the house. I have to say this vac handles BOTH types of floors (linoleum and tile, too) incredibly well. The attachments are easy to switch out, so I can get cobwebs and dust vultures (you know, those not-cobwebs which hang down and lurk you from the ceiling corners) and of course dust bunnies all cleared out very quickly. I also run the vac over the upholstered furniture and curtains, and anywhere else I can. This vac is a sure bet, each and every time. I bought it again, even though it was expensive. I bought it AGAIN. That alone should tell you how good this machine is. I have even used it on my car, and in the bed of the truck, after treks to the barn and beach for a summer ride in the ocean...and it got all the sand, dirt, hay bits, and dried manure out of both car and truck. I'm not impressed; I actually call this my magic machine, and have NO fear of things on shoes being brought into the car or house. I just grab the vac and voila, things disappear. Buy it. You won't be disappointed at all. And if you can score the refurbished units, they are just as good as a brand new one. But don't hesitate; if it can handle all my extreme dirt needs, it can surely handle a normal household's dirt needs, too.

I wasn't concerned about buying refurbed from Overstock. Have never had a bad experience in the past. The discount was just too good to pass up, even though it knocked 4 1/2 years off the warranty. I know several people who have this model and have never had an issue with it. We recently purchased a 3 yr. old home. We had just had the carpets cleaned and the cleaner used a Dyson before cleaning. His recommendation helped with my decision. We hadn't even moved in when the vacuum arrived and I decided to give it a try, even though it had been vacuumed and cleaned just a couple of weeks prior. It STILL picked up a lot of fuzz and dust!! And so easy to maneuver. Have been using a Bissell, top of their line, and it is just incredibly heavy. Like several others mentioned though, it would be nice to have an onboard place for the turbo attachment. My Bissell has one that is VERY effective at removing cat hair (we have 4!!) and it has a place for it. Dyson needs to make that a priority. But I knew that before I ordered.

Does a great job removing cat hair from carpet. The Animal brush attachment does a great job as well. Even better than the motorized attachment on the DC44. What I do not like are the following: 1. I hate the effort that is required to lock the handle in a vertical position. I also do not like the fact that you can't roll the DC41 over edges, cords and the like because the handle does not lock in place. When rolling around you cannot press the handle down to lift the front up. Biggest design flaw. 2. Locking the hose and wand to the handle is no easy task. Designed by a monkey. 3. The hose is not user friendly when dusting. Very stiff. You have to wrestle with it. You constantly have to pull on the hose to keep it extended. 4. You cannot vacuum under anything because of the size of the ball.
