You can't beat the price. However this vacuum is larger than I expected. Because I'm divorced now it isn't a problem but I wouldn't want my wife to lug this thing up stairs. In my new apt, the rugs are let's say thin - this vacuum doesn't "bite" down enough for me. Then again I'm very picky when it comes to cleaning. Over all it works good - and the saying "You get what you pay for" really applies here.
This thing is small and heavy. It's very powerful. I was vacuuming up a lot of construction dust and the old bag-style vacuum blew a portion of that dust back into the air. This one actually traps it. It has a filter that looks and feels kind of like memory foam... very dense.
It's neat how you can pull the top of the hose out and start vacuuming with that end. Don't forget to slide the accessory holder on so you can have you attachment head ready to go. You will have to remove the head to replace the hose into the housing.
When the vacuum is upright the motor runs, however, if you lay the vacuum down like you were going to suck under the edge of something then the motor kicks off. You have to stand it up fully to have it kick back on. I'm not sure what that's about but it's annoying.
Result: It's smaller than my old one, no bags, sucks harder, has more capacity, 2-in-1 full/handheld functionality, looks better and was cheaper.
What an unbelievable discovery! After a friend's recommendation, we purchased this particular model Roomba in an effort to handle the dust, sand, dirt & cat hair that accumulates daily in our rural, ranch house. Prior to the purchase, the day after vacuuming, the house was always covered with fine sand/dirt! The Roomba runs daily & leaves the house looking like the maid just left! Works on both hard floor surfaces & carpet, (although better on the hardwood & tile surfaces). I was worried that the waste bin wouldn't be largest enough for the level of sand brought in daily, but it handles it without a glitch (and we even take off our boots at the door)! If it can stand up to daily use at a cattle ranch, a normal house shouldn't even phase it!
I like that this hand held vacuum is fairly light, easy to keep charged, easy to clean & nice looking. I got it to clean up my cat's fur on pillows & the couch, but it doesn't do a very good job. I'm sorry I didn't purchase one of the more powerful vacuums for just a little bit more money. Seems to always be the case! Try to save & end up wasting money!
I would not recommend this if you are looking to keep up with the pet fur.
