Great product--very efficient, even with pesky dog hair, and many assorted tools to get the job done. My husband (the primary vacuum wielder in our family) absolutely loves it and sings its praises every time he uses it. I have to concur that it is easy to use, not heavy, and sucks well. Our dog (a smooth haired fox terrier) sheds so much that he should be bald by all rights, and his hair is almost pine-needle-like in texture, which makes it well-nigh impossible to remove from carpeting and rugs. This vacuum has enabled us to finally triumph over dog hair, at a very reasonable cost to boot. I would highly recommend this product!

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned and I have had an Electrolux, Dirt Devil, Dyson, Shark, Kenmore, Hoover, and a less espensive Bissell. Before I describe this product let me inform you to never buy a Dyson, Shark, or Eureka if you live in the United States because you cannot buy replacement parts. I learned this the hard way. Also, vacuums (no matter what brand) are made to last 18 months to 2 years. Another thing I have learned the hard way. That is why buying a refurbished vacuum at this price is a smart decision and buying a Bissell where you can easily get replacement parts is one as well. This vacuum is amazing. It has all of the cyclonic suction of a Dyson and is much more functional. It is not only an upright but it is a canister as well. It is so convenient to be able to lift off the center and leave the clumsyness of the upright behind. It is the best of both worlds. If you are a pet owner it will change your life ( at least, the smell of your house). It picked up dog hair from my medium pile carpet that my Shark left behind. I highly recommend this vacuum (and I am an avid twice a day vacuumer) to everyone. I also recommend after purchasing it that you order the Universal Pet Hair Vacuum Tool from Bissell (about $35). If Overstock does not have it Bissell's official site does. This set of 2 attachments is amazing for stairs and pet beds. It is several inches wider than the one already attached to the vacuum. Also, I ordered from Bissell for $14.99 a bare floor attachment. I lift off the the vacuum from the center and add the bare floor attachment and it is a light, easy, and effective way to vacuum my wood and tile floors. With the amazing Overstock refurbished price and the very reasonable Bissell extra attachments I purchased there is not another vacuum that can compare out there. For the first time I am completely happy with my vacuum and will replace it with another one of the same when the time comes.

I purchased this vacuum over a year ago. I was very pleased with it and even rated it "excellent" during my initial review. However, now after a year, I see what other reviewers were commenting on - the handle keeps coming off. This just started happening and is very frustrating. The suction is still great and for pets owners, it is a great vacuum if you can tolerate the handle coming off on a regular basis. That is my only complaint. I would probably not purchase this again after experiencing the handle problem. I guess I could duck tape the handle on but I should not have to do that.

This vacuum is amazing. I have wanted a Dyson for quite some time. After doing much research on the models available, I decided to go with the DC25 Animal since we have 2 dogs at home that shed excessively. This vacuum picks up hairs in areas that a normal vacuum could not. I happened to receive it the day before we were scheduled to have our house professionally cleaned. After the cleaning crew left, I decided to run the DC25 over the carpets that had just been freshly vacuumed. The amount of dirt and hair that it picked up was incredible. I would highly recommend this vacuum for pet owners especially. It lived up to its hype and is well worth the investment. Easy to use, easy to maneuver, easy to clean.

I am and have been recommending this to pet owners. I also own a Windtunnel, but thy Dyson animal works better, i think, for the animal hair in the carpets.

Upon arrival the vacuum is packed well to prevent any damage. Once unpacked, you can get it started in a few minutes. The vacuum is powerful in terms of both suction as well as the brush to kick up dust. I dare you to vacuum your house with another vacuum and then try the Dyson. You'll see the difference in efficacy by the amount of dust the other vacuum left behind. The system was originally designed for pet owners. However, you don't need to have a pet to benefit from this engineering marvel. The vacuum features easy-to-clean HEPA filters which are excellent for reducing allergens as well as a canister that is easy to empty/clean. The Vacuum has a super long power chord, which may be considered a benefit as you can use the same outlet for multiple rooms. Yet, as there isn't an automatic retraction feature, it can be cumbersome. Also, the wand, which works when the vacuum is upright, has a head that is a little bulky for my liking. So If you have furniture that is low to the ground, you may not be able to fit it under.

As my old vacuum recently died and my cat began shedding its winter coat, it was time to upgrade to the bigtime in vacuum cleaners - Dyson. The day I got this thing I put it to the test and went through every attachment, cleaning everything in sight, including my cats scratch post house thing that she lays on and was coated in her hair. This vacuum had no problem whatsoever picking the hair up off of anything. I cannot recommend it more for pet owners!

I've only had this vacuum for a few weeks but it does the job well. I have tile and carpet in my house and the vacuum does well on both surfaces. In addition, having the detachable canister feature is a bonus. It is a great vacuum especially for pet owners, hopefully it will last for a long time.

Stopped working correctly after less than a week of use. When they said this was designed for pet owners they must have meant people who own rodents. I had to empty the canister every two minutes. Will never buy another Dyson.

We extensively researched vacuums that were not only within our budget, but reviewed well for pet owners and decided on this one based on past reviews. IT IS A WORK HORSE OF A VACUUM, for sure! When I read in others' reviews it was heavy, they weren't kidding. This has got to be the heaviest vacuum I've ever owned! Thankfully we live in a one story house . . . I can't imagine carrying it upstairs, and I'm fairly young and fit! That's my only real caution! Otherwise, the vac performs beyond excellent for picking up pet hair bare floors as well as carpet and furniture. I do find I have to switch to the bare floor mode for carpets that are not tacked down. The suction is so great on this vac it doesn't function well with the roller on decorative carpets laid on bare floors. However, even with the roller turned off and in bare floor mode it does an excellent job! Love the long cord and all the cubby attachments that are easily at hand. Previously had a bagless vac, but I'm digging the bag. Saves time having to clean after every use. However, there is a musty smell emitted if the bag isn't changed frequently. Probably all of our pet hair and dandruff! Bags are easy to find and change. Only other little issue is the wrap hose comes out of it's encasement way too easy and not always when I need it. Quick fix, just a bit annoying. Overall we are extremely pleased with our purchase. Thanks OVERSTOCK!!!

After 10 years, I decided to go back to a bagless, and am glad I did. This is a real vacuum. It is heavy, though. I like that the brush turns off when using the hose and all of the attachments snap into place so they don't fall off. A flexible hose & useful attachments make the machine easy to use. Switching from floor to hose is so easy that I find myself using it every time I vacuum. It is most impressive when used on my tile. It forms a suction against the floor it is so strong. Amazing. I have come to the conclusion that the bagless styles just aren't tough enough for me. I am a happy pet owner and live in an area where dust and dried grass are year round problems. I have gone through 4 bagless vacs in the same price range as this one in the past 10 yrs. Never again. What a bargain.

I've been wanting to get a Dyson for so long since I have cats and a dog. I was fully expecting it to wow me, but it didn't. I thought given the Dyson name plus being billed as a pet hair vac that it would suck the living day lights out of carpet. It doesn't. It's really not any better or worse than the other two cyclone vacuums I've had over the years. Furthermore I find the hose/wand to be very difficult to use. It's heavy and awkward for vacuuming sofas...and what to pet owners have to vacuum more often than not? Sofas! Two other negatives are that it doesn't have a very long cord and the small beater bar attachment can't be stored anywhere on the the unit with the other attachments. It is, however, very nice for vacuuming hard floors. It maneuvers very well with the roller ball. All in all I'm glad I didn't spend my money on a new unit!

First of all, what a great name for a vacuum: The Cyclonic Momentum. This vacuum cost the same as my old Hoover, but you won't believe the amount of cat and human hair it picked up from carpets that had been recently vacuumed with my old machine. Pet owners, get ready to rejoice! There was enough cat hair in the holding tank to knit a whole litter of kittens. Then, I went over the carpets a second time and retrieved even MORE debris. My carpets have colors and textures I'd forgotten about long ago (and I vacuum and shampoo them regularly). The machine is a bit heavy to lift, but its powerful motor towed me along behind it, making vacuuming easy. This Bissell gets 5 stars, but whoever wrote the instructions gets 0 stars. Boo! Hiss! It's nearly impossible to rely on the photos in the instructions, too. A great product like this one deserves better treatment from the people marketing it.

I had the opportunity to try this product at a friend's home after she raved about it. Both of us are pet owners which is always the true test for a vacuum. Since I have purchased this, I have been raving too! Vacuum luv!!

Received the brown Dyson box from brown, opened it up, vacuum had some wear on the rollers but generally seemed to be in good condition. Put it together and got to work. Whoa! What's that smell?!? Smells kinda like a wet dog. A very strong pet odor. It most likely was coming from the filters. I called Dyson and explained about receiving the refurbished vacuum from Overstock and the horrible pet odor and asked about getting new filters. Dyson rep was not willing to send filters unless I paid retail price for them. I explained that this unit was refurbished and such an odor was unacceptable. The rep suggested I wash the filters in cold water. Ummm, yeah, like cold water is going to remove an odor! Not only that, this machine should have had the filters replaced when it was refurbished at the factory. Dyson rep didn't budge. I said I was going to return the item. Seemed like she could care less. (I didn't indicate I was going to get a replacement). Being a previous Dyson owner, and seeing how well this vacuum worked (in spite of the smell), I called Overstock to inquire about getting a replacement. The O. rep was GREAT! Sales rep had me on the phone all but 2 minutes. In that time she heard my complaint, set up a return with prepaid shipping label, and immediately sent me another vacuum, and didn't even double bill me. Received the second vacuum, put it together and fired it up ... Yea! no odor! Vacuum works like nobody's business! The day before I vacuumed our floors with our old DC17, and this DC41 pulled a surprising amount out of the carpet. This DC41 is suppose to have the most powerful suction of all Dysons. The ball was different compared to the traditional style, but overall is easy to operate. This vacuum is several pounds lighter. The canister is a bit smaller compared to the one on the DC17. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and especially Can't say much for Dyson's customer service, but Overstock's came through. So ding one star for Dyson shipping out the first vacuum with such a horrible odor. Other than that, it is a 5-star machine at the price overstock is charing for refurbished (plus $40 internet coupon).

Where do I begin. I have a 4 year old black lab who sheds more than any other lab I've ever met, as well as a very active 10 month old little boy. I was a little concerned because everyone I know who owns a Dyson has carpet throughout their home, and my home is entirely hardwood. I was curious if it would perform as well with no carpet to suck the dirt out of. I couldn't really find any reviews that were specific to exclusively, or mostly, hardwood floors. So for all you exclusive hardwood floor owners, this is for you! This is the most amazing thing we could have bought. It picks up stuff that the naked eye doesn't even see. I vacuum the main areas daily, with the bedrooms and hallway 3 times a week or so. I start with an empty bin and before you know it, there is dust and dog hair and "free range cheerios" (as we like to call them) that I didn't even know existed all hanging out in the container. The extendable wand is amazing, though I worry sometimes that the hose will crease when I use it at a low angle. I agree with the previous reviewer who said the instructions were a little confusing .. they are photos only and really could use a few lines of text. I wish that the pet hair brush attachment was able to be stored on the machine with other attachments, but it's not a huge deal. Or maybe it can be, and I just can't figure it out! The bin opens easily, though I find a quick tap or two against the side of the trash can helps get all the clumped up dog hair out that doesn't fall out voluntarily. It's not the quietest machine, but it's not the loudest either and the baby sleeps through it. The rolling motion with the ball takes a little getting used .. the first few times I was bumping into everything. Now I'm much smoother with it and it works just like the commercials. All in all, for me and my hardwood floors, this was the absolute best vacuum we could have purchased. If you have pets, or active kids or husband and want to KNOW your floors are clean, this is what you need to buy.

This vacuum really is the best at getting up pet hair and dander! We have two dogs in a carpeted studio apartment, and we bought this vacuum when our old vacuum died. The difference between this one and our old vacuum is like night and day - this Bissell sucks up probably 10x more pet hair and leaves our carpet softer and cleaner than it has ever been. I'm very glad that I decided on this vacuum, and I highly recommend it to all pet owners!

I bought this vacuum cleaner after the handle on my Hoover "snapped off". For the first time I did research before buying one, and I am SO glad that I did. I was impressed with the reviews and the price was good-if it worked like the reviews promised. It was delivered in 2 days which was great (normal for Overstock.com). It's very easy to assemble and a lot lighter weight than I expected. It has plenty of attachments (I am grateful-I bought an Oreck a few years ago and it didn't have ANY attachments, used only Oreck bags and was hard to push around) and the cord is long enough to clean most of my house without having to plug it in again. I don't remember reading that it was "self-propelled" in the reviews or if it's because it's so lightweight, but the Shark almost vacuums by itself. The head swivels which is quite handy in corners and around table legs. I have two long-haired cats and the amount of hair that was vacuumed up the first time I used the Shark was totally amazing (and embarrassing). I vacuumed my house every day for the first week I had the Shark and I continued getting dirt and cat hair out of my carpet, which is wonderful but doesn't say much for my previous vacuums. I have never been so excited about a vacuum cleaner before, but I've never had one that exceeded my expectations like this one has. The only thing wrong with it-it's a little top heavy when using the wand and can tip over if you pull it by the wand instead of the handle on the top. I wouldn't mind if the hose/wand was a little longer either but overall I am very happy with it and would urge anyone-especially pet owners- to get this vacuum cleaner. You won't be sorry.

I have had reconditioned items before and so I was not surprised that it worked just like new. It is so quit my other Bissell was a hand-me down from my daughter who got it from a friend. I am not sure how long the original own had it but it worked fine but neither owners have pest so I ended up killing it. So when I saw this one specifically stating Pet I was excited. when I got it I put it together (easy) and swept just a small spot on the floor where my dog usually lays, in a few seconds the cup was full of hair and dirt. I did not even see the hair on the floor. I am really impressed with this pet vacuum. I would love to be able to sweep my dog (have a dog brush that can be attached to the vacuum hose) with it but he does not like sweepers. If you have pets this one will do the work. It even gets aspen shavings and hay that my bunny kicks out. When this one goes I will defiantly get another
