Dyson refurbished vacuums have been stripped down, cleaned out, reassembled and thoroughly tested. They’re restored to a fully functional condition. In short, they are everything a Dyson machine should be—they work properly and don’t lose suction.

Dyson refurbishes vacuums that are returned to us by retailers or consumers. Refurbishing these machines, rather than disposing of them, means that the parts and materials are re-used instead of wasted.

When a machine comes to us to be refurbished, it is first stripped down as far as necessary. Components removed from the machine that meet our high standards of quality are kept and cleaned. Most damaged or broken components are sent away for recycling. The core of the machine is thoroughly cleaned and new parts are added to replace damaged or cosmetically unacceptable parts discovered during the stripping down process.

Just like our brand new machines, the rebuilt machine then undergoes a comprehensive series of electrical and performance tests to ensure that it works as it should. For our vacuums, one of the tests carried out is a suction test. All refurbished vacuums are electrically tested in compliance with electrical and safety requirements.

One of the primary differences between a new Dyson machine and a refurbished Dyson machine is its appearance—a scratch here or there or a slightly clouded bin may provide a clue that it has been previously used. After it has passed all of the tests, the machine is then packaged and sent out. All Dyson refurbished vacuums come with a 6 month parts and labor warranty.

    This was the first time I had bought refurbished, and I actually bought it as a gift to friend for his wedding. I was appalled to find out a small part on the vacuum was actually broken still when my friend opened the vacuum! I felt really bad! However, they contacted Dyson, realizing the value of the vacuum was worth a little effort. Dyson sent them the replacement part and walked through replacing it (it was an easy fix!!) with him, and the vacuum was as good as new, and has been going strong ever since. An unfortunate oversight in this refurb, however Dyson lived up to its brand and made sure the customer was taken care of, and they even did it the fastest way possible! Instead of asking him to send the vacuum in and it get stuck in a queue and then shipped back taking who knows how long, they got the part out to him in two days and walked him through the repair and made sure the vacuum was running well before disconnecting.     I am a pet owner. Over the years I have tried many vacuum cleaners to deal with the fur from cats and dogs. I've tried the Hoovers, Eurekas, Electrolux, and Dysons. All had their pluses and minuses. Then one day, in a hotel, I saw this vacuum and thought, why not try a commercial machine. I bought one *** and never looked back, except to laugh at the others and bemoan the $500 I spent on a Dyson Animal. This machine is powerful, the hose pops right out for using the tools, it lays completely flat to get under beds, try that with a Dyson. This is a heavy duty machine that will let you know it's getting the job done. The fact that the beater bar has its own motor was a major feature. No air driven bar to bog down. Love it. Love it. Love it. And who really wants to look at the dirt from you rugs, anyway? This machine is designed to get the job of cleaning a room done right and done quickly. Next time you are in a hotel, look at the carpet and ask if your machine could do that job, ever...

    I love it so much, I bought my mother one for her birthday. I own a Neato as well as a Roomba and there is no comparison. My Roomba fees like a cheap plastic toy (thin plastic, very light, weak suction, not very "smart") while my Neato is the exact opposite: It's tough, built like a tank, has a clear LCD status screen (the Roombas do not have) and real push buttons (the Roombas have a thin piece of plastic over a "snap" like button -- the kind that wears out over time). I also own a Dyson upgright ball vac (manual vacuum) and I prefer my Neato to my $600 Dyson. To also compare, the Roomba is very quiet ,but that's because it's not very powerful. It's like a quick vac and it often misses spots and can't pick up pieces of cat food for example. My Neato, on the other hand, sounds like a VACUUM cleaner -- because that's exactly what it is.
