I recently adopted two very furry cats and was at a loss for cleaning up the fur. Swiffering and sweeping daily wasn't helping the battle. The refurbished model I bought is perfect! No scratches, no dings & works like a dream! I didn't think I'd ever be excited about something as mundane as a vacuum but I can't stop raving about it to my friends with pets! It's lightweight and easy to assemble the first time and sucks up everything and anything. I wish the attachment for getting under smaller spaces was a bit better- the smaller broom head needs a bit extra effort to use- but even the smaller size still manages to get everything up. It's fantastic too at picking up litter that's been tracked everywhere. Simple to clean out too. Definitely recommend the model- pet owners will love it!

If it wasn't for the plain brown box and a few scuff marks on the wheels, i would swear this was a brand new machine, that lives up to the Dyson name. I just moved from a house where we had a larger dyson to an apartment where the smaller machine and the manuervability of the ball works get. Excellent pickup, simple storage, and well designed on board tool.

Incredible suction! Finally! This awesome little vacuum has given me the edge in the war against pet hair! I'm the owner of 3 cats and a dog, and this vacuum has cut my floor cleaning time in half. Great on my rugs, hardwood floors, tile, and laminate! I'm so glad I no longer have to drag out the broom and dust pan! I can just keep vacuuming from one surface to the next, and I can reach my whole house from one centrally-located outlet! It has also worked great for a quick clean-up of white dog hair on my dark brown bonded leather sofas. This is the first canister vac I've owned, but it's so much easier to maneuver than my old bulky up-right vac...I now have no plans to ever own another up-right! I am happy enough with it overall to give it 5 stars, although I do have a few critiques: As others have mentioned, the cord keeper on the bottom is not terribly convenient, but not awful either - I can definitely deal with it. I'm glad it came with 2 bags because I looked for the required size before it arrived, and couldn't find them locally...Will have to order them online, which is a bit of an inconvenience. I wish the floor sweeper attachment was just a bit wider/bigger to cover more area, but the additional attachments included are great for cleaning fan blades, blinds, etc. And lastly, I notice that the plastic of the hose and the attachments is charged in such a way that pet hair sticks to it like a magnet...I end up having to vacuum a large amount of dog hair off the floor attachment when I'm done vacuuming my rugs, but that's not really a bad thing since it means I'm getting up even MORE pet hair! I can't imagine that anyone would be disappointed with this great little vacuum!

After 10 years, I decided to go back to a bagless, and am glad I did. This is a real vacuum. It is heavy, though. I like that the brush turns off when using the hose and all of the attachments snap into place so they don't fall off. A flexible hose & useful attachments make the machine easy to use. Switching from floor to hose is so easy that I find myself using it every time I vacuum. It is most impressive when used on my tile. It forms a suction against the floor it is so strong. Amazing. I have come to the conclusion that the bagless styles just aren't tough enough for me. I am a happy pet owner and live in an area where dust and dried grass are year round problems. I have gone through 4 bagless vacs in the same price range as this one in the past 10 yrs. Never again. What a bargain.

I bought this vacuum cleaner after the handle on my Hoover "snapped off". For the first time I did research before buying one, and I am SO glad that I did. I was impressed with the reviews and the price was good-if it worked like the reviews promised. It was delivered in 2 days which was great (normal for Overstock.com). It's very easy to assemble and a lot lighter weight than I expected. It has plenty of attachments (I am grateful-I bought an Oreck a few years ago and it didn't have ANY attachments, used only Oreck bags and was hard to push around) and the cord is long enough to clean most of my house without having to plug it in again. I don't remember reading that it was "self-propelled" in the reviews or if it's because it's so lightweight, but the Shark almost vacuums by itself. The head swivels which is quite handy in corners and around table legs. I have two long-haired cats and the amount of hair that was vacuumed up the first time I used the Shark was totally amazing (and embarrassing). I vacuumed my house every day for the first week I had the Shark and I continued getting dirt and cat hair out of my carpet, which is wonderful but doesn't say much for my previous vacuums. I have never been so excited about a vacuum cleaner before, but I've never had one that exceeded my expectations like this one has. The only thing wrong with it-it's a little top heavy when using the wand and can tip over if you pull it by the wand instead of the handle on the top. I wouldn't mind if the hose/wand was a little longer either but overall I am very happy with it and would urge anyone-especially pet owners- to get this vacuum cleaner. You won't be sorry.

This Dyson DC25 came in a plain brown box but when opened, it looked brand new. This is the vacuum I've been waiting for. I've had a Dyson DC14 and the DC25 cleans 10 times better than the DC14.

First of all, what a great name for a vacuum: The Cyclonic Momentum. This vacuum cost the same as my old Hoover, but you won't believe the amount of cat and human hair it picked up from carpets that had been recently vacuumed with my old machine. Pet owners, get ready to rejoice! There was enough cat hair in the holding tank to knit a whole litter of kittens. Then, I went over the carpets a second time and retrieved even MORE debris. My carpets have colors and textures I'd forgotten about long ago (and I vacuum and shampoo them regularly). The machine is a bit heavy to lift, but its powerful motor towed me along behind it, making vacuuming easy. This Bissell gets 5 stars, but whoever wrote the instructions gets 0 stars. Boo! Hiss! It's nearly impossible to rely on the photos in the instructions, too. A great product like this one deserves better treatment from the people marketing it.

As my old vacuum recently died and my cat began shedding its winter coat, it was time to upgrade to the bigtime in vacuum cleaners - Dyson. The day I got this thing I put it to the test and went through every attachment, cleaning everything in sight, including my cats scratch post house thing that she lays on and was coated in her hair. This vacuum had no problem whatsoever picking the hair up off of anything. I cannot recommend it more for pet owners!

We have 2 large dogs that shed a lot. We vaccuum every day and this is the first cleaner that has picked up all the dog hair imbeded deeply in the carpets. I would recommend this to all pet owners.

I have an older model dyson animal vac dc 17 I think, this new /refurbished one is much lighter and suction is fantastic. I didnt see any wear other than the plain brown box you would never know it was a refurb. I was Leary of the smaller sized dirt cup as I have two dogs and always fill it. This one isn't the smallest it is smaller but still good size for a couple of rooms before filling.

Upon arrival the vacuum is packed well to prevent any damage. Once unpacked, you can get it started in a few minutes. The vacuum is powerful in terms of both suction as well as the brush to kick up dust. I dare you to vacuum your house with another vacuum and then try the Dyson. You'll see the difference in efficacy by the amount of dust the other vacuum left behind. The system was originally designed for pet owners. However, you don't need to have a pet to benefit from this engineering marvel. The vacuum features easy-to-clean HEPA filters which are excellent for reducing allergens as well as a canister that is easy to empty/clean. The Vacuum has a super long power chord, which may be considered a benefit as you can use the same outlet for multiple rooms. Yet, as there isn't an automatic retraction feature, it can be cumbersome. Also, the wand, which works when the vacuum is upright, has a head that is a little bulky for my liking. So If you have furniture that is low to the ground, you may not be able to fit it under.

This is the best vacuum cleaner ever made. My parents have had this machine for over 20 years. Basically I grew up using this vacuum cleaner. Knowing that this is a very well made product I decided to purchase a refurbished one on Overstock. There are a couple of reasons I went this route. First, it's more affordable (new ~$XXXX), and second I would never be able to stand a home visit from one of the obnoxious rainbow dealers. They are truly unbearable. So this was a win-win for us. There are a couple of issues we encountered with the unit we received: a metal wand was bent and had to be replaced (already received from Overstock) and one hose attachment was damaged (replacement in progress). Love this machine and was dreaming of one for a long time. It's a must for any pet owner. I never write reviews (always read them), but I do feel very strongly about the incredible quality of this product. $$ well spent. FOR SURE

Where do I begin. I have a 4 year old black lab who sheds more than any other lab I've ever met, as well as a very active 10 month old little boy. I was a little concerned because everyone I know who owns a Dyson has carpet throughout their home, and my home is entirely hardwood. I was curious if it would perform as well with no carpet to suck the dirt out of. I couldn't really find any reviews that were specific to exclusively, or mostly, hardwood floors. So for all you exclusive hardwood floor owners, this is for you! This is the most amazing thing we could have bought. It picks up stuff that the naked eye doesn't even see. I vacuum the main areas daily, with the bedrooms and hallway 3 times a week or so. I start with an empty bin and before you know it, there is dust and dog hair and "free range cheerios" (as we like to call them) that I didn't even know existed all hanging out in the container. The extendable wand is amazing, though I worry sometimes that the hose will crease when I use it at a low angle. I agree with the previous reviewer who said the instructions were a little confusing .. they are photos only and really could use a few lines of text. I wish that the pet hair brush attachment was able to be stored on the machine with other attachments, but it's not a huge deal. Or maybe it can be, and I just can't figure it out! The bin opens easily, though I find a quick tap or two against the side of the trash can helps get all the clumped up dog hair out that doesn't fall out voluntarily. It's not the quietest machine, but it's not the loudest either and the baby sleeps through it. The rolling motion with the ball takes a little getting used .. the first few times I was bumping into everything. Now I'm much smoother with it and it works just like the commercials. All in all, for me and my hardwood floors, this was the absolute best vacuum we could have purchased. If you have pets, or active kids or husband and want to KNOW your floors are clean, this is what you need to buy.

This item came in a ragged brown box however everything inside was brand new. You can't even tell its been used. It is hands down the best vacuum i've ever owned. I vacuum twice a week because my dog sheds and this thing picks up everything. Best investment ever!

I have five dogs and one cat so as you can guess, my house gets full of fur by the end of the week. I am so glad I purchased this Dyson. It cleans better than any vacuum I have had in the past. I was waiting to purchase this model when I had the budget and the price was right--well the refurbished price made it happen for me. It arrived in a plain brown box as others have mentioned in previous posts, and it looks and works as new. All paperwork and accessories were included in fresh bags. I cannot tell it has been refurbished! It cleans like no other vacuum cleaner I have had prior with one other big difference that I am so pleased with...it is very light-weight and easy to maneuver. I am very happy with my purchase and with the speed that Overstock delivered it to me. Thank you Overstock and thank you Dyson!

Wonderful hand held vac. It does not pick up all the cat hair on a brown sofa pillows but does a good job on the seat and ottoman. I have to work with the pillow back. Good suction and I really like the brush attachment.

This vacuum is amazing. I have wanted a Dyson for quite some time. After doing much research on the models available, I decided to go with the DC25 Animal since we have 2 dogs at home that shed excessively. This vacuum picks up hairs in areas that a normal vacuum could not. I happened to receive it the day before we were scheduled to have our house professionally cleaned. After the cleaning crew left, I decided to run the DC25 over the carpets that had just been freshly vacuumed. The amount of dirt and hair that it picked up was incredible. I would highly recommend this vacuum for pet owners especially. It lived up to its hype and is well worth the investment. Easy to use, easy to maneuver, easy to clean.

I have been wanted a Dyson ball vacuum for many many months now. Our dog tracks dirt, debris, dead grass and hair all over our (faux) hardwood floors, and I've been vacuuming with my cordless Shark at least 2x a day. When our refurbished Dyson arrived, it came in a large plain brown box. When I pulled everything out, it looked absolutely brand new. NO wear an tear, whatsoever. This vacuum had not been touched. The wheels had no wear, the canister was crystal clear. It looked fantastic. The vacuum came in 3 parts out of the box- the body, the bottom suction part and the extender handle. The bottom snapped into the body very easily, but I did have a little trouble figuring out the instructions on putting the extender handle in. Even still, the whole set up took less than 5 minutes. I plugged it in and I was off. The vacuum is fairly quiet (in comparison to my Shark and to previous vacuums we've owned). Our dog didn't bark at it once! Also, the vacuum seems almost self-propelled forward at times which is great and easy on the arms. I did have a hard time convincing myself that I could turn on a dime with the ball (sometimes trying to pick it up to move it in a new direction, but that wasn't necessary at all). The vacuum has great mobility, and easily got underneath my coffee table without me having to bend down. I had my hardwood floors cleaned in about 10 minutes (my whole downstairs). Then I used the extended handle and the mini vacuum attachment and cleaned my carpeted stairs. I'm not convinced this little vacuum attachment was the best way to clean stairs (it seemed better for upholstered furniture), but I know it was at least working (saw larger debris being picked up). Then I used the hose and nozzle to clean out my car, and used the bristle brush attachment to get into the little nooks and crannies on the dash. The hose had incredible power, picking up tons of large dirt and small rocks out of the floor mats (no need to take them out and bang them on the ground). I LOVE our Dyson! It was WELL worth the money spent. And I'm glad I took everyone's review advice and went for the refurbished rather than the new, since mine could have been a brand new one for all I know. No problems, at all. I am more than satisfied.

I've been wanting to get a Dyson for so long since I have cats and a dog. I was fully expecting it to wow me, but it didn't. I thought given the Dyson name plus being billed as a pet hair vac that it would suck the living day lights out of carpet. It doesn't. It's really not any better or worse than the other two cyclone vacuums I've had over the years. Furthermore I find the hose/wand to be very difficult to use. It's heavy and awkward for vacuuming sofas...and what to pet owners have to vacuum more often than not? Sofas! Two other negatives are that it doesn't have a very long cord and the small beater bar attachment can't be stored anywhere on the the unit with the other attachments. It is, however, very nice for vacuuming hard floors. It maneuvers very well with the roller ball. All in all I'm glad I didn't spend my money on a new unit!

I had the opportunity to try this product at a friend's home after she raved about it. Both of us are pet owners which is always the true test for a vacuum. Since I have purchased this, I have been raving too! Vacuum luv!!
