I am unbelievably disappointed in these stools. I bought them for my kids to sit on at the kitchen counter...they are just over 2 months old and they look horrible and they're starting to fall apart. So much of the dark brown color has chipped off the seat surface that trying to fix them with a touch-up marker would be comical. As if this weren't enough, they are getting so wobbly that I'm afraid they will just fall apart while someone is sitting on them. Just last night a screw holding one of the legs to the footrest fell out, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they won't be safe for anyone to sit on. I carefully assembled the stools according to the directions. This is one of the worst purchases I have ever made, and I wish there had been a similar review when I purchased them so that I would have known to look elsewhere.
I received these stools in July of 2013 and already the woven seat is separating at the seams. The description mentioned that the coloring would fade in places due to the natural material so that I expected and colored in the spaces with a magic marker as suggested. After putting the stools together (which took a little time due to making sure the screws were in correctly) they looked rather nice but as it turns out, here it is July of 2014 and I feel the need to replace these stools. The legs are even separating.....perhaps wood glue would have prevented them from coming apart like this, I don't really know.We actually used the stools to sit on - perhaps they were made to only look pretty, not to be used. I am not happy the stools did not hold together for long.
I thought these stools would be great under my kitchen island and the price was right. I purchased them and after only two months of LIGHT use (no one really ever uses these), the seats are peeling/chipping and the legs are coming loose. They have a one year limited manufacturer's warranty so I am attempting to try and get the manufacturer to help but I haven't gotten anywhere so far. I would not recommend purchasing as they are not worth it.
The stools were very simple to assemble and feel very sturdy. They look fantastic (just like the picture) and are a great size for what I needed. These stools are not the most comfortable...the seat is very hard. But I'm not concerned that they will be worn down any time soon. Love them overall.
The stools look great and were easy to assemble. Sturdy and very attractive. Read the measurements to make sure the seat dimensions will work for the fannies in your house. Also, they caution you that the natural rush fibers may show wear over time, and it is true that the stain does flake off in spots but is easily touched up with stain, furniture pens or even sharpies! Glad I bought them.
