Upholstered Platform Eastern King-size Bed

Very contemporary, very solid design that fits well in our bedroom with vaulted ceilings. Came packaged incredibly safely. No damage, nothing missing! This bed let us eliminate our double box spring, putting king size mattress directly inside the fabric covered side/end rails. Took hours to assemble by myself (needed to use magnifier to read directions). All tools needed come in the box so persistence and patience paid off. Fabric has subtle herringbone design, soft to the touch almost like velvet. Color is taupe, not cream, not beige, on the cool side with silver nail head design on headboard. Harmonized well with khaki and other beige in the room.The headboard is well proportioned so artwork could still be placed above it unlike some other fabric covered beds I looked at. The feet are very dark brown, almost black. I repainted my little desk in glossy black to make a dramatic impact beside it. Lovely. Very happy with this purchase. Would highly recommend for someone willing to carefully follow less than clear install directions.

Have been looking for a king-sized upholstered bed for ages that wouldn't break the budget but also wouldn't look really chintzy. After much delayed delivery due to the winter 2010/2011 blizzards, my husband and I were finally able to get the bed put together and we love it. It comes in three large boxes. It took us about an hour and a half to put it all together. The instructions were simple and clear. We opted not to use our box springs with the bed because we have an 18" mattress and we would have felt like the princess in "The Princess and the Pea" towering 8 stories in the air. Sleeps just as well. I was worried that the color would be weird since I couldn't get swatches but it's perfect for our room. I would describe the color as a silver oatmeal. We have our room painted in Silver Sage from **** and it works perfectly.

My wife and I chose to go with this bed after spent days online doing all the research and comparison. We kind of knew what we were looking for, so we focused mainly on all the fabric upholstered beds currently offered. After the comparison, we found this bed offer the best price for the higher end quality and style. And of course, the reviews on this bed certainly helps, that's why i am writing this review to contribute and cheerish this great bed. All I want to say now is this is an excellent buy, very good quality and very stylish and stable construction. Couple of thing I have to emphasis on this bed: compare to other upholstered beds, this bed has thinker and broader frame (rails), which adds so much depth and class to this bed, and the legs are more stylish and stronger as well, which others often offer narrower rails and small legs that can live dangerously over time. No other beds matchs this bed, brilliant!

I don't often leave reviews, but since the reviews for this bed made me feel comfortable enough to purchase it online sight unseen, I thought I'd pay it forward. I have ordered a few things from Overstock and am always really pleased, from the online experience to delivery to the way the actual product looks in person. This bed was no exception and surpassed my expectations in every way. Delivey time is listed as 1-6 weeks - I got it in one week. It was very well packed. The bed itself is beautiful. I agree with the reviewers who said it looks like a much more expensive bed. The fabric is a neutral beige and is super soft. My husband didn't like the way the nailheads looked in the picture, but loved them in person. We have a Tempur-Pedic mattress and it goes with the bed just fine (you just have to order the ultra low box spring since Tempur-Pedics have to have them). It was also pretty easy to put together. I could have done it myself except for the heavy headboard. If you're deciding whether or not to purchase, go for it - you won't be sorry!
