This 100% copper garden hose round pot is beautiful to look at, but that is only positive thing I can say about this item. First, it will not actually hold (re: keeping a garden hose neatly coiled inside) a garden hose that is 100 feet in length as advertised. To do so, you have to cram it inside tightly, yet still some of the hose will hang out. (Note: a hose that is just 75 feet long will easily fit inside satisfactorily). Secondly, the copper is too thin and allows for easy and unsightly denting to its surface. This goes for its flimsy copper lid as well. Simply stated, for its purpose, use, and the expected wear-and-tear, the copper construction is much too fragile and lightweight making it not resilient and sturdy enough. Thirdly, the circular edging of the port-hole that allows attaching the hose's end to an outside faucet is very sharp which overtime could slice into the hose rubber or vinyl outer layer causing an eventual water leak when the faucet is turned on. While this item has a very pretty face, I would suggest searching for and buying a 100% copper garden-hose pot where its metal construction is solid (re: thicker copper) and more durable than this one.
I recently saw a copper garden hose hider for $300. I fell in love with it, but because of the price I didn't purchase it. Overstock.com had a beautiful holder for much less. It is an excellent quality holder and I just love it! Thanks Overstock.com! You have made a believer!
My husband and I love this hose holder because it neatly stores our 100' hose out of sight while providing easy access. It is an attractive garden ornament in its own right. It will be perfect once it patinas to verdigris.
