For the price and the type of ultra-synthetic material, I expected a stinky, thin, rough-feeling rug. I bought it anyway because I needed to protect the floor from the dog. I was pleasantly surprised when I unrolled this - it doesn't stink at all, feels very soft underfoot. It's a little thin, but that's expected for the price point; just get a thick rug pad. I got Country Apple and the color is great; like a brownish red, almost a faded brick. The color is accurate on screen. In person, the rug looks a little faded, almost like I threw it through the wash or like I've had it for a long time. This is because all of the strands are the same color - there are no variants strung throughout to deepen the shade. This is the only part of the rug that screams "cheap rug" to me. I'm very happy with this purchase, as I got much more than I expected. I haven't tested the stain resistance yet, but hopefully it will be awhile. The dog loves to lay on this rug though, since it's much softer than the rest of the floor - so I have a feeling I'll be cleaning something out of this soon.
Overall I like the rug, the color was exactly what I was looking for, I wish the pile was much higher, I am considering getting a mat to put under the rug as when you sit on the floor it provides almost no cushioning, feels like sitting direct on hardwood. Most places unrolled and laid flat pretty quick, there is one spot in a corner that is still not 100% flat after a month, hopefully it goes flat soon...
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? the blue is very true to the pic online
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. quality is ok, didn't expect much for what I paid, a bit thin
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? good
I hesitated to buy this rug because no one could tell me if the pile was cut loop or not (we needed cut loop because of our cat - he pulls at the loops otherwise). This rug does have a cut loop pile - it's like a very short shag (think wall-to-wall carpeting). We purchased the stone color and it's a slightly bluish grey in natural lighting (a slightly warmer grey in artificial light). It's very soft and has held up to a few spills and lots of cat hair and vacuuming so far. The edges are taking a while to unroll (going on a month now) but other than that, I have no complaints. We also purchased a rug pad to go underneath but the rug feels relatively thick on its own - the pad is more to keep it from sliding around and the protect the floor underneath.
I have pets so the previous rug I bought, hand looped, from Overstock, although beautiful for about a month, got 'hairy' from vacuuming and the loops started getting pulled out by dog action. This ****** rug is perfect for pets. Just enough nap for some texture, yet plush enough for comfort. It reflects light and makes the room look larger. (I have the light corn color)
