I purchased this featherbed to replace a fiberbed. After a year, the fiberbed would no longer fluff up. So far, this featherbed is much more comfortable than the fiberbed (even between fluffing). It fluffs better. If you have never had a filber or featherbed, you have to fluff it at least weekly.
I have used this now for just two weeks and although it is a short time to judge the durability of the bed, I am certainly pleased with the loft and feel. Not a single feather has worked loose or poked me. The all down top is luxurious and the bed overall provides that cushy comfort I expected.
I already owned the 5 inch super snooze featherbed and decided to try this one for my guest room. When it arrived I put it on my bed first to see if I liked it more than the other one. The first thing I noticed is that this one does not come with a cover as does the other one so I had to order that. Also, I have a standard queen size bed and the width of this featherbed is right on but the length is a little too long, not really a problem though. I thought this featherbed was comfortable but not quite as much as the 5 inch super snooze. I also started having some back discomfort that had disappeared with the super snooze. So this featherbed is now in the guest room and I am using the super snooze again.
I also bought a solid foam "memory" mattress a few years back and it was just TOO firm. The mattress topper really did the trick by giving me just enough give while retaining the firmness of the bed. Best of both worlds. I wish I had gotten this feather bed along time ago.
