This bed is as it looks in the photos. It's a nice enough looking bed for a kids room and is very sturdy once assembled. The bed requires no slats for the mattress as the bed frame itself has round metal tubes for slats welded to the frame. The frame has one support on each side which bolts in the middle of the frame. Once assembled the mattress sit on top of the frame and slides off every time my daughter climbs on the bed. I looked at this frame closely and the slats are recessed in the frame enough to allow the mattress to sit down in the frame slightly to prevent the mattress from sliding- but, the center supports had the holes drilled in them in the incorrect location so assembling the bed as it arrives results in the mattress sitting on top of the metal slights and even with the bed frame which allows the mattress to slide off very easily. I fixed this issue myself by drilling holes on the center supports to allow the frame to be flpped "upside" down. Nice looking bed but poor design when It comes to assembly.
