One thing I was not aware of was the position of the bed rail supports in relation to the actual depth of the unit to floor. Before purchasing the unit, I had contacted overstock.com to inquire as to the depth of the bed frame to the floor. I was told it was 4”. They neglected to inform me that in addition to the 4” legs attached to the bed frame, the bed rail supports were 4.5” higher from the base of the bed rail. So total inches from the mattress base to the floor was 8.5” instead of 4”. Then on top of that you secure your wooden slats. Now the distance is almost 9” from the floor. This makes a difference when you set in a 9” box spring and an 11-12” pillow top mattress. The total height is almost 30” from the floor. This is high for me, but I will get use to it. Recommendation: The assistant should be familiar with all measurements of the furniture when queried as to its measurements, and should know the depth measurements of box springs, foundations, etc. I would have not purchased a box spring and mattress set (just the mattress) from Overstock had I known of the true height dimensions of this bed frame from base to floor.

I read most of the reviews and decided to go for it.. My only issue was one similar to some of the other purchasers.. The bed did not come with enough slats to support the mattress. I had to go to the local hardware store and purchase 4 more...Minor expense..We ended up purchasing the Bodipedic king memory foam mattress and both are great..We love this bed! Make sure that you inspect the shipment prior to receiving.. The faux leather could tear because it is not packaged very well..If you accept it, it is yours!

Got this less than a week after I ordered it. Super easy to assemble......I did it myself in about an hour. Looks rich and elegant in our bedroom. I used both box springs and mattress on it so it sits pretty high. I highly recommend this bed.

I just received this bed and am very pleased with it. It looks like it should be more expensive than it was! Was not too difficult for two people to put together. Delivery was great, they brought the boxes right into my bedroom. In case you were like me and were unsure of the color of the bed, it is a dark dark brown. Great buy!

I ordered this bed last week and surprisingly it came within 5 days! So that was good. The frame itself looks good but the slats that come with it was not sturdy AT ALL!!! So if you purchase this frame, make sure you make another trip to Lowes or another furniture store to buy sturdier slats to hold the mattress, cause if you just use the 5 wooden slats you get, it will not hold you or anyone, let alone the mattress, which I think is the most important piece of all. =(

This was such an awesome deal for a king size bed! It looks elegant and is very sturdy. I am so glad I got this.

I LOVE the look, and the comfort of this bed. The headboard is perfection for those who sit up reading or watching T.V. - there is no give, or 'wobble' at all. And the construction is sturdy enough that my 5 yr. old nephew uses the footboard as a balance beam with no complaints from me! The upholstery is perfect with tight, straight seams. I'm thoroughly satisfied

I love this bed. I had a ton of trouble receiving it though. I had to refuse delivery of two damaged beds before this beauty arrived unscathed. Overstock, as always, was very helpful in making sure a new one was sent out. Guess the ball gets dropped with the trucking companies. Assembly is not too bad, except as mention in many, many other reviews below, you will need to purchase more reinforcement bars. I just used 1 x 4's and some wood screws from Lowe's. Quality is good for the price, and it looks impressive when complete.

The bed has held up. The only negative comment I have is that the legs they give you to support the boards that go across the bottom are CHEAP! They do not hold up. We had to build our own legs and now the bed frame is perfect!

The bed is beautiful but, the legs that is use to hold the bed up is not sturdy enough . however i went to home depot i got 4x4 and they work perfect.

It was easy to install. I added plywood over the slates to make more sturdy. I love this bed! No box springs, just mattress makes it sit up just right!

Looks very nice and more expensive than what I paid. No problem with support boards, we did not add anything and is holding up just fine. Had to deny delivery to first bed sent due to damage. Chk fabric for rips before accepting. Overstock sent out new frame quickly.

the bed came very quickly, which I was happy with. It was pretty easy to put together, but did find I needed to add additional slates, it only came with 4, i added 2 and will probably get another couple of slates. Also, due to the packing, the headboard is slightly indented in a couple of spots, I assume the strapping was too tight. Overall, we like it.

Bed was an excellent choice. All I did was replace the boards with thicker wood, you can pick up at any lumber yard. The price is very competitive as well. I like my bed.

THE WAY THIS BED IS MADE YOU CANT FIGURE WHAT TYPE OF MATTRESS. DO YOU NEED BOX SPRING AND MATTRESS OR JUST MATTRESS. HEIGHT IS IMPORTANT. WOULD LIKE TO BUY A MATTRESS BUT WOULD LIKE TO MAKE BED LIKE IN PICTURE. DEPTH OF SLOTS ARE TO LOW FOR JUST A MATTRESS..AND TO HIGH FOR BOTH? YOU GUYS SHOULD MAKE RECOMMENDATION FOR THE TYPE TO USE. ALSO OVERSTOCK UPDATED FOR DELIVERYARE WAY BEHIND. MY BED WAS HERE FOR A WEEK WAITING ON ME FOR DELIVERY AND OVER STOCK WAS JUST SAYING SHIPPED..CATCH UP ON TRACKING..AND I USED MY HOME FOR BILLING NOT FIR DELIVERY AND I DO NOT CHECK MSG OFTEN.. SO THAT WAS A PAIN. AND TO SEE BEDS ALOT LESS THEN WHAT I PAID MAKES ME SICK.

The bed is beautifully made. We have a mattress and boxspring, and had no problem with the amount of slats included, they work perfectly & the bed is solid. The bed as shown in the Overstock photo only has a mattress, so the headboard looks a lot higher. If other purchasers just put a mattress on the slats, they may have needed more support. Great buy!

Love this bed! Lots of great reviews, but was slightly skeptical because of low price and a few customers complaining of it being cheaply made (leather tearing easy, etc.). Haven't had any of these issues and i have sharp nails that sometimes graze the leather when i am making the bed--doesn't leave a mark. Got this bed because we had an expensive bedroom set in a dark dark cherry and were upgrading from queen to king and didn't want to buy whole new bedroom set. Looks perfect with our dark wood and it our new memory foam mattress fits it perfectly! Love that it is lower to ground so that my two one-year old twins won't get hurt if they tumble off the bed--and the soft frame is nice as well--girls don't hurt themselves when climbing up or down (probably not an issue for most people but with two toddlers following me everywhere, I couldn't be happier with this bed!) Looks like we paid a LOT more for it than we did. Love, love, love it! You will not be disappointed! As far as extra slats are concerned, ran to nearest homestore and had a few extras cut and worked wonderfully! Awesome buy!

this is a really nice bed. The leather is good quality and looks amazing in our room. We did get extra slats for the bed as the other posters said. We had some delivery problems - the carrier lost 2 of the 3 boxes - but Overstock took care of it. I was surprised by the bed height - even though we have a shallow box spring with our temperpedic mattress, the bed still sits pretty high.

We received our bed today. It is a very nice bed. I luv it. The bad thing was the mattress set didn't arrive with the bed although we ordered them both at the same time. I went ahead and bought extra slats b/c of the reviews. I didn't mind at all b/c it was a minor expense. I will order from this site again and I would def recommend this site to others.

I about this bed about a month ago, and I am in love. The price was great and we got it amazingly fast, easy to assemble, yeah you have to get a few slats but oh well, I still love my bed!
