Love these curtains. I saw these about 2 months ago, but they did not have the length I wanted in stock. I looked every where and could not find anything similar, then they came back in stock, so I ordered them for my formal dining room, formal living room and study. I ordered the Autumn for the dining room & living room the colors are not as deep as on my computer screen, but they are pretty. The autumn has a khaki/caramel background, burgundy stripe, I would say a light sage stripe with a medium blue border. So the colors in the autumn are burgundy, sage, blue, khaki. I am going to put the Mocha in the study, but I just ordered them. These curtains are very nice and you can not beat the price. They will easily fit a 2-2.5 inch decorative rod. I am going to put sheers under mine. I would not say they are a 100% black out curtain, but they work nicely and the material is soft to the touch. They drape well and should work great at protecting my wood floors and antique furniture from the sun. The back of the curtains have a white lining. I tried to add a few disciptions others had left out.
BEWARE of the thermal backed curtains from Overstock. I bought 3 pairs of curtains (1 of each of the 3 available colors). The specific product name is "Thermal Backed Tuscan Blackout Curtain Panel Pair".
These emit a TOXIC smell, especially when the sun hits them.
Quite disappointing, because these absolutely look beautiful. They gave off a smell coming out of the package. Washing them will make the smell go away temporarily. Unfortunately, once you hang them, as the sun hits the thermal lining during the warmer months, the smell will make you GAG.
I bought these curtains last Winter, so it's been cold and the smell was somewhat bearable. Now that Spring is here, it was quite warm today and now all of my bedrooms smell like something a little worse than burnt rubber.
I am going to contact Overstock and see if I can return them. Otherwise, over *** worth of curtains are trash.
How is the quality of the product? look nice, but smell terrible
Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? no mention of the latex type of thermal lining material which emits chemical smell
The curtains are beautiful, but they have a chemical type odor that I can't get rid of. I tried washing them but the smell is ingrained in the thermal lining. I am really disappointed with them and will have to get rid of them because I can't have that odor in the room. The odor really shows up when the sun heats up the curtains.
They are also not 63 inches long, but 61 inches long, found that out when I hung them on a double rod over a set of 63 in sheers, and the sheers were longer. Took the curtains down and measured them and found them to be shorter than they are supposed to be.
They also do not block out 99% of light, it is more like 60%.
I was surprised at how nice the curtains are. I had also bought a pair of thermal backed/black out curtains at xxxxx because they were so inexpensive. But they are very stiff. The fabric of these Tuscan curtain is softer so they drape more easily. They are very pretty and I've put one pair in my guest room and am using another pair in the master bedroom.
They do keep out the drafts at night and the room is warmer. But - they are definitely NOT black out curtains if that's what you're looking for. Personally, I like the way they filter out the light enough for sleeping and allowing some light to come into the room, showing off the curtain's design.
The Tuscan drapes have a rich, warm look with mainly browns and beige colors. There is a thin light blue/grey line as shown in the close-up picture. The fabric feel is very nice, soft, nice "hand" and fairly heavy, but not too heavy. Blocks a lot of light when closed, also the fabric pattern shows through when back lit which if fine. When illuminated from the front (such as night time with the drapes closed) the fabric has a somewhat different appearance, the beige shows more. They look good day or night, closed or open. I was surprised at the quality for the price.
As stated by others, these curtains are beautiful and very well made. I purchased Sage and the colors are warm and deep. The beige is actually a gold color, which adds to the richness of the appearance. No odor. A buyer needs to know, however, that these are only 82" long, not the usual 84" long as stated in the product description. Also, they do block out penetrating sunlight, but not all light...they are not opaque. These two anomalies have been mentioned before, but they are important when considering curtains. I have a dual curtain rod, so I purchased a true opaque curtain for the inside rod, and these attractive curtains for the outside. Voila! And the shortness doesn't bother me in my bedroom, but it would other me in my living room. All in all, another great purchase from Overstock.
These drapes are just what I needed for my master bedroom. I ordered both the "beige" and the "sage" so I could choose in-person. The beige has a wide stripe of burgandy and also a thin stripe of aqua within the pattern (just fyi). The sage drape is lighter overall. They are a nice heavy quality, seams are well sown..not sloppy or ragged. Good purchase
We bought 4 sets of these curtains for our bedroom. The room is already warmer. The do darken the room a lot but that is o k for us.
Someone had said something about a chemical odor. There is NO odor to these curtains.
We shopped around looking for the best deal for this type of curtain. Most of them come ONE to a package. With these curtains
you get a pair.
I am very pleased with these curtains. The colors are as shown on the website.
The material is great. We bought them for our sliding glass doors in the living room.
We live in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, so we get a lot of snow, wind and cold.
The curtains have helped a great deal with keeping the cold drafts out. We noticed the difference
right away. They look great and they add a lot to the room. I did have to iron them, but the wrinkles and
creases came out easily. I ordered the 84" length which should have been a few inches too long.
When we got them hung, they were about 1/2" -1" from hitting the floor. I just put the rod through the
pocket where the ruffle should have been and they are perfect. This was not a problem to me.
Also, a few of the reviews said there was a order to them. I had none.
I have noticed in the reviews that an unexpected blue stripe is in some of the color options. I have ordered the sage through Sears and do not want any blue in my curtains and am now concerned, What color scheme is the sage? Your description only says sage and a ivory or tan color? Thank you,jenns57 on Feb 24, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The sage curtains are a rich gold background with sage, tan, gold, olive and celery in the pattern. I suppose if you used them in a room that had blue decore the celery to take on a bluish tone. However there diffinitely is not a true blue stripe in this drapery.sleeper8 on Feb 25, 2014
no blue. there is a light aqua stripe in the beige but not the sage.cheridelburi on Mar 7, 2014
I love the thin blue line, you can't see it
unless you look for it. I added blue place mats to bring out the blue.rashan69 on Mar 11, 2014

Is the 84 inch length the total length of the fabric, or is it the length from the rod pocket to the bottom??koshmar on Nov 14, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello koshmar, 84 inches is the total length. Thank you for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 20, 2013
This is the length of the panel from the rod pocket to the hem. They have a 4"machine stitched hem that can easily be lowered or shorten if you only need a slight adjustment.spiritgirl5 on Dec 27, 2013

Is it true that the curtains has a TOXIC smell to it? I have read the reviews and its getting in the way of me buying them. They match my livingroom perfectly! I'm so disappointed, I have to know!
Please advise.tsimms105 on Feb 13, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for the question. The smell is most likely the dye that is captured in the plastic container. This is a product that has over 700 very satisfied customers and if your curtains have this order you can be assured that it will pass once they are hung.overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 14, 2013
No toxic smell AT ALL. I was wondering if those who experienced this, had them hanging in direct sunlight. I have these hanging north, east, and one in the south. So far/so good. It's winter here, and maybe direct sunlight in the summer would "cook" the liner and create the odor. As I said, it's not been my experience.scoobski on Mar 13, 2013
My curtains did not have a toxic smell at all.ladyslipah on Mar 29, 2013

I have these hanging in the window facing the South facing the sun for most of the day. Haven't noticed any smell at all. It's winter but sun is sun and the furnace is on that generates heat. Still NO Smell.Doubt seriously you will regret making this purchase.spiritgirl5 on Dec 27, 2013
I need curtains to cover 104".
Will one set of these completely cover 104" when closed?
Thanks.lfletch03 on Jan 25, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
No, sorry. I have them on 4' windows and the size is perfect. I would suggest a second set. The quality and color of these curtains is excellent. I'd definitely buy them.suzycue7 on Jan 27, 2013
I don't understand. If the panels are 52" wide and two panels come in a set, why wouldn't they cover 104" when closed?
I am allowing for extra width on side......my windows is 96"....but the rod will allow for 104" curtains. Are you sure I would have to order TWO sets? Seems like overkill and would be too much on either side of my window when they are wide open. They'd block out light.
I just want to make sure they are actually 104" total when closed......one set that is.
Thanks, Lynnelfletch03 on Jan 27, 2013
Not sure if my response to your response went through because I was not signed in. I have a 96" windows. If the panels are 52" wide, and 2 come in a set, why wouldn't ONE set cover 104"? I plan to have the curtains extend 4" to each side of my window which is the 104" I refer to.
If I bought 2 sets, I'd have too much curtain, wouldn't I? I don't want to block out too much light on either side of my window. Thanks, Lynnelfletch03 on Jan 27, 2013
Thank you for your inquiry, we appreciate your patience. We do not want to contradict another customer but since you under measured we think you will be ok considering you do not want to fully blackout the room.overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 1, 2013
I have taken down the panels and put them away so can't give you an answer. It gave plenty of coverage for a 48 inch window, so I'm thinking each panel must have been 50 inches wide.janet05 on Jan 18, 2013
I need to have the curtain rod extend 6.5-7" from the wall. I found some curtain rod bracket projection extenders but I need to know what the mounting hardware looks like for these curtains-do you have a picture?satisfiedinindiana on Dec 5, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
