I looked for bamboo shades at major department stores and could not find one with the exact measurements that I needed for my kitchen window. Searched on Overstock and found this shade which is exactly what I needed at a much lower price. If you are looking for a shade that is completely room darkening, this is not the shade for you. The light does veer through. I personally am ok with that. Great shade for the price. Would recommend.

Most reviewers said, "Once you get the process down for hanging them, it goes smoothly." I totally agree. I bought four of these. I felt like we were stymied when hanging the first one, but then we had an "aha" moment and got into a groove. Also, other reviewers commented that these were more for decoration than pure light blocking. Again I agree with this. We hung these in our mudroom. They nicely cover up our outdated windows, but you can still pretty much see right through them. I wouldn't use them in a bedroom, so they're fine for our needs. We went an inch down in width for all our windows, I got three 29-inch blinds for our 30-inch windows, and a 33-inch blind for our 34-inch window. We hung them inside the windows. Obviously there's a slight gap between the blinds and the window but that seemed a better alternative to us than hanging them outside the window. Overall, a rather fine putrchase considering the price and that we couldn't find what we wanted made in America.

Although it was a little difficult to install it is a beautiful blind. This blind is NOT a privacy blind...you can see right through it when its bright outside. I will probably be looking into lining them soon.

I purchased 3 shades in two sizes. They fit our windows perfectly. A nice addition for our bedroom make-over. I love the way the light is diffused through these shades.

This is a nice shade, but just FYI to those shopping for shades. I ordered this to replace a similar shade I bought elsewhere.. The Overstock shade has little gaps between the slats so the light comes through. It said "gently filters light" in the description, but I didn't really realize that meant there were gaps. The pic of the item does not show those gaps, the pic appears solid,with each piece of bamboo touching. So, just an FYI, this shade is not solid. There are 1/8" gaps between each piece of bamboo. You cannot see into the house during the day, but surely can at night, which I'm sure is why it is labeled "not a privacy shade"

Color is exactly as it looks on the website and goes great in my living room. I am very satisfied with this purchase!

This shade was over half the price I had found locally and that included shipping! I have already recommended this to my sister. I had super quick shipping right to my front door. You can't beat that Overstock.com will be the first place I turn for needed items in the future.

These blinds are beautiful, easy to install and really add to our bedroom. Great value too!

Fits perfectly... the only down fall is the slight smell of the shade but that fades after about a month!
