we've bought a few great items on overstock. i thought this lamp would be another good addition. it looked nice when it arrived and was easy to assemble. however, problems started a few weeks later-- first, the knob began to stick. if the lamp was on for more than 30 mins or so, the knob would refuse to turn (no clicks). so we just began plugging/unplugging it instead of using the on/off knob. we didn't use it much - not even once a day - so it wasn't too much of a hassle. a few months later, almost out of nowhere, the lamp became very unstable. it got so wobbly, actually, that one night i was sitting across the room, watching TV and the lamp (which was not on) just collapsed onto the floor. (it looked like it fainted!) we had to throw it into the dumpster. too bad. now on the hunt for a replacement...

These lamps were initially a great buy. They look beautiful, and added nice lighting. However, after about a year one started tilting and I could not get it to stand straight. I tried tightening the places where it screws together but it would not tighten. The other lamp (I bought 2) soon had the same problem. My husband wound up taking them apart and found the material in the base of both lamps had cracked and could not be fixed. He's very handy and used old barbell weights to fix them, but I was very surprised and disappointed by this defect.

I've looked at floor lamps all over town, and never found one this sturdy or stable anywhere! It's so solid. Very nice quality. Not a scratch on it, and the shade was in perfect condition, with a large cone protecting it from crushing in the carton. Another great find from Overstock! Arrived in 2 days! I'm impressed for December ordering! Thanks again!

Love the lamp. I'd seem similar products else where for a a lot more. So glad I found this on Overstock.com!

This lamp is much nice than I expected. Easy to put together and looks great in my living room. I may change the shade to an off white or beige, but its ok for now.

I like the general look of the lamp, but I can't get it to stand quite straight. Since it's in the TV room, that doesn't matter as much.

I have been shopping for floor lamps for months & was surprised at the prices. This lamp is a great value for the price. The post is quite dark in color while the shade is bright white making a stark contrast.

Very heavy and stable floor lamp. Exceptional value for the price point and great with dark wood floors/furniture accents. Arrived carefully packaged with no chips or damage. My only comment would be that the shade, which appears warm and cream-coloured in the photo, is actually a stark white colour. I've put in a warm colour of bulb, but it's still much a colder white than I expected. I may eventually change the shade.

I've been trying to furnish a small darker annex room in my house. I found a nice chair on Overstock and went looking for a new floor lamp to compliment the chair. I have two small table lamps in the adjoining room and this one was nearly identical. The lamp came in good condition and was well-packed. I tend to agree that the shade is a bit too white but I was able to get a shade that matches the small table lamps that is still light but not so white. I'm very happy with the chair and lamp. I talk up Overstock all the time to friends. It make furniture buying easy for those of us without an easy means to pickup orders locally and who don't like the high delivery charges to haul the items for you from a local store.

This lamp is exactly what I wanted! It is very heavy and sturdy, a great deal!

This lamp is excellent! Great value for price. Nice and heavy...will not tip over. Very well made and the shade is nice too! I would buy another one! Highly recommend this lamp!!!

I am very happy with the floor lamp. It arrived very quickly. It looks just like the picture and was very easy for my husband to assemble. I agree with some of the other customers about the lampshade being a bit too white; I went to a discount store and got a replacement in an off white shade for just a few dollars. Once again I am a very happy Overstock customer. I will keep coming back for more purchases! The savings are fantastic!

I love this lamp. I need a floor lamp for my den and this was priced so well I thought I'd give it a try. I've been very pleased overall with overstock items and can add this item to my list of smart finds. Looks very nice with my traditional decor.

My first purchase from Overstock.com. It is a very heavy lamp. Color stated as bronze but it is very dark, almost black...I would rather it had been more wood tone but I still like the lamp and would recommend it.

Nice lamps - I bought 2 - though are shorter than I expected for floor lamps..... my fault for not checking the height in the description. They go well with my desk (also from O).

First purchase at Overstock -- I bought two floorlamps on the basis of the positive reviews, and I am delighted with the result. May replace shades eventually as they are bright white and we're a little more ivory in our home, but otherwise, I am thrilled. And the shipping deal is awesome.

This lamp is well made, sturdy, and very nice looking. We already have had one for a year or so, and now are getting a second. A nice alternative to metal floor lamps.

Definitely not bronze, but more of an ebony wood look. Still goes well with all the **** looking furniture that I have. Packed well and easy to put together. Sturdy base. Wish that it came in different colors. Would love to order a white one for a bedroom. Although mine is very slightly crooked, it is much better than all the floor lamps I have seen in the stores. I'm glad that I bought it.
