Keep Off!
from Saginaw, MI,  Jun 5, 2007

Pros: Makes you think, a good workout for your brain. Cons: The bath was damaged (dented) when I received it. Assembly instructions are not worth the paper they are printed on (one sheet with just a very bad sketch). Part labels on instructions did not match the labels on parts. There were parts in the "kit" that didn't show up on the instruction sheet, but were critical for the assembly. Assembly was by trial and error. The pump could not be positioned properly because the electric cord was in the way and the cord cannot be moved out of the way (without major surgery/redesign). Fountain would not pump water to the top when assembled. Unless you are in need for a good mental workout, do yourself a favor, get something else.

Not Just for the Birds
Anonymous  from Buffalo, New York,  Aug 6, 2008

This item is an excellent value. If you want a modest water feature with a modest price, this is it. I experienced some difficulty with the instructions, not exactually precise. But with a little creativity you can put it together in a relativelty short time. Look closely at the picture so you don' t have to take it apart when you construct in the wrong order. After putting it together, a little adjustment in the leaf placement will allow the water wheel to do its work. The gentle cascade, the water wheel, and visiting birds make for a pleasant afternoon of bird watching.

Rust forming
from New Jersey,  Jul 29, 2008

Bought this product just last week. Assembly was a little time consuming like others have said, but with some patience and backtracking a little I was able to get it up and running in under an hour. You have to play around with the little cups to get them positioned correcty, otherwise the water goes everywhere. I did notice yesterday however, that rust is starting to form on the pedestal in many spots. This is after only a few days outside. Don't know yet what I will have to do to alleviate this. It shouldn't be happening.

Wonderful Garden Accent
from Portland, CT,  Jul 17, 2008

This is a rich-looking birdbath. It was not difficult to assemble even though there were no step-by-step written instructions, just fuzzy pictures. I did not have difficulty putting it together that some others had and I'm a 69 year old woman. All I needed was patience. It uses a small electric motor to pump the water up to the flower and then sends it down both sides to turn the waterwheel. I add water when it starts to get low and it keeps going and going, just like that famous rabbit. My cats sit and stare at it for hours, watching both the fountain and its visitors. The price was especially good as I have seen very similar ones for twice as much. Give yourself a treat and get this one.

Not what I expected
 from Wausau,  Jul 15, 2008

I am a big OverStock customer but this was not up to my standards. It just plain did not work. The top piece was stripped so it would not stay together. We are going to come up with another use for the fountain part but it was not a good buy.

Easy to look at, hard to build
from New Hampshire,  Jun 14, 2008

I read the other reviews talking about difficult assembly, but I'm fairly handy so I figured what the hey. Once built, it is sturdy and looks great, but be warned that you will need more than a screwdriver and pliers (and patience!) to put it together. The instructions consist of a crudely drawn exploded view with no descriptions and one of the key parts isn't even shown. The biggest problem was with the bracket that holds the water wheel: the hole that should allow the central fitting to pass through it isn't nearly large enough. (This central fitting is the one that the "instructions" don't even show.) You will need to be able to drill or file the aluminum casting out to the required 13/16" diameter, Once you do all this, though, it looks great, the pump is quiet, and the sound of trickling water soothes away all the aggravation you just went through. I recommend it only if you have a well-stocked workbench, or you have a friend who does.

Birdbath
from Stagecoach, NV,  Mar 11, 2008

This item was difficult to put together and the instructions were limited. We finally figured it out mostly by trial and error. It looks nice in my garden, but now I wish I had bought a solar powered fountain instead of this one. I am trying to find a solar panel and inverter to convert it, but that isn't an easy task.

Birdbath
from new jersey,  Feb 16, 2008

This was very difficult to put together. I sent this as a gift for my mother. She is not very handy so she had to ask her handy friend to help her with it. There were a ton of pieces. Once it was put together though it worked great and looked fantastic.

Very sturdy construction, easy assembly, and nice looking. Birds love the water movement and they are fun to watch drink and bathe.

Bird Bath Fountain
from Mpls, MN,  Jan 2, 2008

This product got to us in plenty of time for Christmas, however it took many hours of trying to assemble it. The pieces don't fit exactly together, and creating new holes was a must for some of the parts. After getting everything together, the product does look very nice. Just a note to anyone as well- The water must be completely fill up the whole bath part or the fountain will not work.

Not quite what was expected.
from Western KY,  Oct 14, 2007

Though aesthetically pleasing and a good value this was smaller than anticipated and did not have a "waterfall" sound as it is more like a big dribble.

Looks pretty, fails quickly
Anonymous  from Houston, TX,  Aug 12, 2007

The fountain looks gorgeous, and for the first 3 months was terrific. Then the pump died, and now it's kind of useless. I'm not happy.

Great Choice!
from Seattle, WA,  Jun 1, 2007

We bought this to put in our front courtyard. We had taken out a pond that my father had put in a few years ago that kept leaking, but we missed the sound of the water falling down into the pond. This bird bath is very pretty, has great sound, is built well & was soooo easy to put together. I am thinking about buying another one as a wedding gift for some friends. Another great buy from Overstock!

The Bird Bath
from Minneapolis, MN,  May 31, 2007

The instructions were basically non-existant (a piece of paper with a drawing of the bird bath). Thankfully, my boyfriend is an architect and was able to figure out the missing hardware. He improvised to make it work. Otherwise, it would be scrap metal. Disappointing.

Nice addition to flower garden
 from Tennessee,  May 27, 2007

The product appears to be well built. It is sturdy and the water flows well. I have received complements from several neighbors. The assembly instructions are extremely inadequate. There is only a picture of the parts, with no explanation. Having assembled many products, I started with the "A" parts, then "B", etc. However, this is backwards for this product. I had to disassemble much of the fountain and start over.

Birdbath
 from Weston,  May 18, 2007

I am happy with this birdbath. It is unique with the water wheel at the base of the flowers. Although I thought that it would be a little more substantial then what it is. But so far it has held up well.

Good buy for the money
from Stockbridge, GA,  Apr 21, 2007

This birdbath/fountain is a great buy! The hubby put it together so I don't know how time-consuming it was but the fountain works great. There was a problem with a hairline crack on the bottom of the bowl of the birdbath that couldn't be detected until it was filled with water and started leaking but it was easily fixed with Gorilla glue. And, honestly, the flat black color isn't terribly attractive but I may use some outdoor paint to liven up the appearance. All in all a good buy.
