I was pleased with the bird bath, but ZI was hoping ti was a litte larger. Aassembling it was easy except the suction cup o the inside is difficult to attach properly. We had to add some sealant to get it to stay in place or you cannot get a good flow from the fountain. The quality is good , but I have found a cheaper one, just as nice for 35.00 less.
The parts are different than the instructions which are just a picture. The metal casting was not smooth so some of the pieces don't fit together well and therefore bolts don't set properly. It's pretty but was a pain to put together with parts that are different than the instructions. I may send it back.
Great product. Just as described. Beautiful.Easy to assemble.
The fountain feature is very soothing and hasn't clogged yet (4+wks.) The directions are pictorial only - it helps to be mechanically inclined to put this together. Just keep the water level topped up to keep it flowing. A good buy at this price.
Not enough power in the motor for the water to make the water come up thru the flower and drip down the petals - looks good, but does not work
Birdbath was missing major component, could not assemble. With help of Overstock.com, second birdbath was sent at no charge. Very difficult to assemble. Looks cheap.
I purchased this for my work as a raffle item. Everyone wants to win it. It is a creative design and looks good. It seems to be made of sturdy pieces. Since I have donated it I have not tried the pump system, but should be good the way the water trickles down and turns the water wheel.
This is such a unique birdbath. It is sturdy overall and very nice. I have enjoyed the relaxing sounds!
After researching Birdbath Fountains with a solar panel or a 110 volt pump, I decided to buy a 110 volt model. One reason is that a solar panel must always be in the full sun to work, and I wanted the fountain to stay on for many hours. The fountain is built well with the aluminum bath and the cast iron pedestal and base, the paint is also very good without any flaws. The instruction sheet is just a diagram and was fairly easy to follow, but they left off a position of a bolt and so I had to call the company to ask them how to assemble this part. I installed a power cable in PVC conduit to the pump cord and bought an Intermatic HB35R 110 volt timer to turn the fountain on and off. I also installed a drip tube from a water faucet and bought a DIG battery powered timer, model 9001 that adds water to the fountain four times a day, running for a minute to top off the water in my fountain and hanging birdbath. Since I live in the desert where summers can be hot, I found that I needed to add water more frequently to my hanging birdbath and with the timer it works great to keep my fountain and smaller birdbath full with fresh water. I love my new fountain because the water flows from the top of the flower and flows down each side of the pedals to the wheel. It took a few days for the birds to go from my smaller hanging birdbath to my fountain, but now they are flocking to my new fountain. I have at times six doves taking a bath in the fountain with the sparrows and more doves waiting to take their turn. I have a hummingbird that comes in daily and sits on a pedal to drink some water. My husband and I sit on our sofa and watch the birds splash and drink, and it has been fun to watch. I have taken many photos out of my front window with the birds in my new fountain; I wish you could see them. Since this is our first fountain, I have noticed that after five days I see some green algae in the bowl. This is due to our hot summer temperatures and may also be that my timer turns off the pump at night and so I don't have water running continuously. I have cleaned out my fountain and have left the pump run all of the time, and I will see if this helps. I use a soft pipe cleaner stick to clean out the water coming from the flower feeder tube because it can slow down due to a build up of minerals or algae in the water. I am checking on how to keep the water clean and fresh with a non toxic enzyme cleaner that is formulated for birdbaths and will not harm the birds. This is an excellent product, easy to clean and I would recommend this to anybody.
After spending more than an hour putting this together (instructions are pictures only, and not very good ones at that), I put it outside to begin enjoying all the birds flocking to it. Filled up the bath, the motor runs great ... then I realized they never included anything to get the water up to the tulip to start the waterfall part working. And even if they had, there's no space for the tube to go and no instructions on how to get it to work like it said it would. Not Overstock's fault, which sent it to me in great time. Very, very disappointed. Would NOT recommend this to anyone. (Oh, and there's no phone number to call the manufacturer anywhere on the box or instructions.
The fountain we purchased began to rust after being outside for 1 week. I would not recommend purchasing this or any other metal fountain that is manufactured by the same company. We are very dissapointed in the purchase. We would pursue a refund if were cost effective to go through the process of completely disassembling the fountain, finding appropriate packing materials, repackaging, covering shipping costs, and dealing with customer service.
The fountain is as described and pictured, and it runs beautifully. The water sound is just right -- not too soft. The fountain was a bit difficult to assemble in that some screw holes did not match up perfectly, but with a bit of perseverance, I was able to get it up and running. Also, leveling it was a bit of a chore since the fountain itself when assembled is not level. All in all, though, I think it is a good product and I am very happy with it.
This birdbath looks attractive, but the 'fountain' is a constant problem that is non-functional most of the time. The assembly was difficult due to a small and incomplete diagram - no words to explain. I had to visit the hardware store to buy a part before it was set up. I eliminated a water wheel which was unnecessary and made it appear more of a generatior than a fountain. The pump itself works o.k. until you assemble the flower-like stem and then the flow is reduced to a dribble or nothing at all. I disassembled it twice yesterday since it was not flowing at all and checked to see if the pump was cloged. It was not. Today it is producing a slight dripping after again dissembeling. DO NOT PURCHASE this one !!!!
I really think the piece is lovely, and the effect of the waterfall onto the wheel is beautiful. Unfortunately, the rim finish started to rust within two weeks. I used some Rustoleum to stop the damage, but it shouldn't have happened at all. I've had other similar and none rusted.
The gentle trickle of the water makes the trouble getting it worthwhile. The first one we received was broken; very poor packaging for shipping. The bowl of the second is slightly bent, and a less expensive model, but not noticable enough to return again; still poor shipping. It's fairly easy to put together. I think, overall, it's worth the money. We were able to bury the cord so it looks very natural in our garden.
the part between E and D (looks like a large washer in the photo) is missing and also the tube from the middle of F to G for water supply is missing I can not get it to work after I spent hours assembling it.
Very attractive and appears to be well built, but there were extremely inadequate instructions and no information on operation. I was concerned that the pump would burn our if the water was low, but apparently there is a cut-off to prevent that. Bowl is very small, so requires filling almost daily.
I BOUGHT THIS BIRD BATH FOR MY SISTER'S GARDEN. IT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND MADE TO LAST FOR MANY YEARS TO COME. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT WITHOUT HESITATION.
We bought the tudor fountain this spring and have been very disappointed. The paint in the bowl began chipping loose...blistering first. Everywhere water touched the fountain components (that means the entire fountain) there was mineral depositing and discoloration...Perhaps because the paint job is so poor, minerals seem to absorb into the paint with no hope of cleaning. We were sent a replacement fountain by the company that sells the item on Overstock...it was broken in several pieces. We are still waiting for a replacement...about a month-long process. Don't buy this item...
