this seat is for a round toilet. I thought it would fit a elongated toilet, but it does not measure 17 inches. We did not take it out of the packaging we knew it would be too short.

REALLY well made, sturdy, and aesthetically pleasing for a "novelty" bathroom. Has 6 supports on the base seat as opposed to most seats, which only have 2 or 4, and is for a round bowl. Overstock's price is great, too: majorly discounted. I give my highest recommendation on this!

Wanted something fun for the water closet in our master bath. Was thrilled to find this unit and the variety of toilet seats that Overstock had on their website! Who knew!!?? It looks EXACTLY like what is shown on the site. Obviously not a real seahorse, as it is exactly what is shown - but very lifelike and glad to see that the real animals are not being used. Do like how sturdy the seat is with the number of supports around the rim. Have had others split before (and we are not giant people!) So far the back hinge is ok. Can see where that might be the weakest point on the design, due to the metal hinge coming into the polyresin seat/lid. But my husband is super handy and would be able to repair if needed. But so far, it's great and a real conversation piece when giving a tour of our new house!!

I have had this seat for two years now and still holding up great! The silver is still shiny. I have had many compliments on it, its the first thing everyone sees when they walk into my bathroom. It is inlaided with real shells, but of course, the seat is smooth all over. The mounting bolts lined up well but is made to fit a more rounder toilet. The seat is a little clearer than in the picture, the picture makes it look a little cloudy. I really like it, matches a beach themed bathroom great!!

I contemplated on this and left in my cart for a month, finally I decided to place the order and oh I'm glad I did. This seat fits perfectly on a round seat toilet. It also is very comfortable. You would think it would be cold when your skin touches it but suprisingly it isn't. It also looks great. I think I'm gonna order another design for my guess bathroom. I coudn't have made a better choice. I love it.

I like the toilet seat because of its design. I like that no carpeted lid cover is needed to make it attractive and clean looking. Everyone likes the design. It is also trimmer and sturdy.

we received our pretty toilet seat and put it on immediately. It looks beautiful and my grandsons just love it. The youngest one was beginning potty training and hasn't missed going potty one time since the new seat was installed. I am planning on buying another one in a blue color for my other bathroom. Keep up the reasonable prices.

Bought this seat because I have an old bathroom and couldn't find a yellow toilet seat. This fits well with both my decor and toilet itself. Would highly recommend.

I ordered this seat, and it came today.... I was on the phone to overstock within 5min. It is not 17 inches.. The package only measures 16.. there is no way a 17 inch seat will fit into a 16 inch package... It is a very pretty seat, I wish the measurements on-line would have been right... it would have matched our bathroom and looked nice...

The first seat that I received arrived broken. I got a replacement shortly after which apon arrival was okay. However with-in a week, the toilet seat broke away from the metal hinges that is used to install the toilet seat to the actual toilet. My boyfriend glued it with this really strong glue made for cars and then it was fine- even more sturdier than when it arrived. Several months later, the hinges came apart again! However this time on a different area of the hinges. Once again my boyfriend glued it and it is fine now for the time being.The seat looks nice, but overall sturdiness and secureness is not good.It is ridiculous how much this seat costs, then the fact that it is put together so cheap!My overall impression of it is about 3 stars..........

I've had this seat for a few months, and it continues to deliver in terms of quality, ease of maintenance, and attractiveness. I'm now getting one for a friend as a gift.
