I purchased 8 of these "motion sensor" solar lights with the intention of using them to light up my front walkway. I opened four of them right away, checked the batteries to make sure they hadn't shifted during transit (they had), turned the unit on and went ahead and placed the lights with the panels facing direct sunlight for an entire day. In the evening I assembled each unit and placed them throughout the yard. The lights lit up, very dim light, but they were working. I walked by the sensor ( a couple feet away triggered them) and the light brightened up a bit. I was happy the lights seemed to be working. An hour later, I walked outside, and the lights were off. I walked by to trigger the sensor, but nothing happened. I checked the batteries to see if they had somehow become loose, but nope, they were fine. The next day I placed the lights in direct sunlight again, but again, the lights worked for about an hour and then died. It's been a few weeks since I purchased these lights and now they won't come on at all! I still have the other four in the package since I've been too busy to return them, but I'll be giving them away soon. This product is a rip off.

Love these motion solar lights. There is a dim glow until you walk by, then the light up bright to see your way. You'll also know if someone or something is walking by as it will get very bright!
