I read all of the reviews and took the advice of many that recommended buying a metric ball end hex wrench set. This definitely made assembly easier. I assembled the bed by myself and it probably took about 3 hours while watching TV. The trickiest part for me was attaching the side boards to the head and foot boards. I was sitting on a small Rubbermaid stepstool while I was putting this together and realized that the step stool was the same height as the bottom of the siderails when attached!! By balancing the sideboards on the step stool it was very easy to attach them to the head and foot boards. I bought a new queen size mattress that is about 18" high and makes the mattress height about 31" off of the floor (without a boxspring). This is higher than I thought it would be and there is only about 11 inches of headboard showing above the mattress. It still looks great, it just isn't exactly the look I thought I would get. Also, I'm glad I waited and didn't order the coordinating nightstand as it is only 20" hight and would not work with my pillowtop mattress (which I love, by the way). Bottom line, I am absolutely satisfied with this purchase. I especially liked the way the hardware was packed. Instead of one big bag full of parts, everything was individually bagged with a number on the bag that cooresponded to the list in the directions, so when you needed a screw that was part #2, you open the #2 bag and there is no question as to which screw is right. Some people have mentioned that you need a drill to screw in the bed slats as the holes are not pre-drilled. I used a ratcheting screwdriver to attach the slats and it probably took me about half an hour to screw them all in by hand, no pre-drilling. Just to give some perspective, I'm a 50 year old woman, not particularly handy, with a bad back and tendonitis in both elbows, and had very little trouble putting this together. Buy this bed, you won't be sorry. Just check your mattress height before ordering the nightstands!

Ok.. based my purchace on the reviews of others and I must give mine. This furniture is of TOP quality, TOP design and Overstock got it here in less than 5 days coast to coast. Packed with incredible care, lots of packaging and most of it recycleable. The furniture ( I got bed night stand and chest) where all of the same quality and contruction method. It will take you about 45min to 1 hour for the night stand and a good 2 hours for the chest. The hardware is first rate and the assembly instruction very clear and easy to follow. YOu will need a min of tools and can do it alone but with another person helping these time can be cut by half for sure. This stuff is heavy so expect to need some help moving it around once assembled. The wood is WENGE in color (Chocolate) not expresso which is more black . This is more brown. Once assembled this stuff is STRONG make no mistake that they did their homework here. You cannot go wrong with this furniture and Overstock (it was branded the same name by the way) did a great job getting all 377lbs here safe and pretty fast.. I can HIGHLY recommend this to anyone and the shopping experience as well. For what it is worth we als got the 8" Memory Foam mattress and it too is just perfect. We plan to order the King for our main bed after sleeping on this as a guest bed. I have to give this a TOP rating for everything and I am a very tought customer to please but Overstock did this for us and I must share this will you. I purchased the Tribeca bed on a weekend and received it the following Wednesday. Talk about fast delivery!! It is an extremely sturdy bed. No one would ever think it was anything other than a high end piece of furniture. It was easy to put together although attaching the legs to the headboard was a bit tricky. My husband and I assembled it in less than an hour. The instructions were very clear and the pieces for assembly were marked and packaged very well. We also purchased the select a firmness 12-inch memory foam mattress in medium firmness to go with it. They worked perfectly together. I would recommend this bed to anyone looking for a nice piece of furniture that will last for years to come.

Pros: The bed is gorgeous, matches well with most dark wood pieces. I have noticed it's much more supportive than my previous frame/boxspring combination, and the platform design makes for much more underbed storage area. It's also rock-solid, much sturdier than a metal frame. Cons: I agree with many of the reviewers- assembly is a little complex. Just be careful to pay attention and read the directions carefully and you'll be fine. I'm a woman who is reasonably handy with tools and I was able to assemble it by myself in a couple of hours (with a couple of beers of course). The biggest pain is the headboard assembly which is quite awkward. As previous reviewers have pointed out, a power drill and flexible attachment are a must, or it will take you hours. I also recommend to substitute wood glue for the provided super glue- much more secure. Another great tip: the headboard screws are 80mm, so use the spare screw to space out the platform slats evenly. All in all, it's definitely worth the effort. When moving, I don't anticipate taking the entire headboard apart, so that is a one-off inconvenience. I'm definitely glad I decided to go for it.

I read the reviews of this bed with a grain of salt. This bed could not be that wonderful, especially at the price I got it at. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. This bed, coupled with the 11 inch Queen Pillowtop Innerspring mattress in a box, makes for an inexpensive great night's sleep. The bed is quite easy to assemble, and extra pieces were included. It is also packaged extremely well for shipping. The only con for me was the inclusion of super glue instead of wood glue for portions of the headboard assembly. It is truly solid wood, not particle board, and so far, no squeaks or sagging mattress. Perfect for those on a budget. If you see it in stock -- I had to wait three months -- don't hesitate to get it. It really is a great buy.

This was my first purchase from Overstock and I absolutely adore this bed. I don't EVER write reviews for anything but I was so impressed with it, I felt it my duty to add to the glowing comments about this bed. Just as said in other reviews, the bed is very solid and durable. Be careful, because it scratches easily but the color of the wood and the style of the bed is perfect for the look I was going for and I love that it has slats so you don't need a box spring. I actually bought the 11 inch memory foam mattress with it and it worked just great heighth-wise. After reading the reviews, I made sure I had another person who was better at all the assembly stuff but even I could have managed it on my own if I had to. A drill is a plus if you have it and with a hex wrench bit set, the assembly goes much quicker. Just be careful that you don't scratch the wood while you're doing it. You'll need a drill to put all the slats in with the screws that come with. This is a beautiful and impressive piece of work and centerpoint for a room, especially for the price. I'd recommend it to anyone.

First let me say this bed looks great in my bedroom. Now that I have that said this bed needs to be renamed the Trifecta; the boxes are heavy, hard to put together and very time consuming.Over all the quality is great for the price and im considering getting the dresser to match. I just hope its easier to put together.If you live in a downtown loft make sure you have alot of room to open all the boxes and sort out all the pieces. All the parts came with a few extra to spare.

I had been looking for a full size bed frame but fell in love with the simple lines of this Queen Tribeca frame bed. I am so glad I ordered it on April 13th since it has since sold out. It arrived within 6 business days, all 3 boxes arrived together along with the memory foam mattress I also ordered from overstock. I was able to put together this bed within 3 hours (by myself, a female in my thirties, with only the supplied tools). I did get a blister from using a philips head screw driver to screw in the bed slats, but everything else fit together perfectly and required no "forced pressure" from me. Very well put together frame, gorgeous stain color was true to picture. A heavy, stable bed frame at an exceptional deal price! Directions were accurate too!I would recommend Buying it if it comes back in stock, it is a beautiful bed. My second choice would be the Vermont bed frame, in case this doesn't get back in stock and someone is looking for a similar style bed.

The bed looks pretty nice - we purchased it for our vacation home. Its assembly was easy and all instructions were provided, according to my husband. I would reccomend this bed.

People....for the price of this mattress and the ease of getting it put together, it is a great bargain and very comfy! We laughed when we saw and opened the box that it came in! Only thing was that they bundled everything up and wrapped it in the same fabric that part of the actual mattress is made of, so be very careful when unleashing the beast...ha ha. We had fun taking it apart! Good luck and hope you enjoy yours as much.

When i received this bed it was in 3 boxes, but it was shipped nicely and all pieces are solid. Extremely easy to assemble, though I would use a racketing allen wrench to make things easier. I put a memory foam mattress on top on the platform and it holds it great. No noises and very solid since it has extra support legs in the middle.

This review is about a month after the purchase and assembly of the bed so I do not have the details readily at hand in terms of wrench sizes but I was looking here and thought I would leave a review for anyone that was on the fence about this bed.I was leary of purchasing a bed online since I like to "feel" how well things are constructed prior to purchasing them but I went by the copious reviews and am glad I did.The bed is truly solid wood but more importantly everything fits together well. It fit so well, that the bed must have been cut using CNC machines. It took me about 2 hours to put it together alone but I found a clever way of using my screw gun on low so it sped things up considerably. I do concur with another reviewer however that you get a set of t-handle, allen wrenches with a ball end, it will make the most tedious part of the assembly go much faster. Tightening the head board screws is time consuming since they are at an odd angle and using the supplied "L" shaped wrench would be murder since you have to keep on flipping it over and these are long, fine thread screws.For all of the small screws and other miscellaneous things, they actually give you an extra one of each. The main, larger pieces of hardware are exactly the right number but I had nothing short and other than the extra hardware at the end, everything you needed was supplied.All in all, the bed is beautiful, it is very sturdy, fit very well and matches my floor's finish exactly (that was lucky not intentional).Get the bed!

Bed is beautiful. Was not too hard to assemble with two people. Would hate to try it on my own. There is a pretty good-sized scratch on one of the legs. I'll be filling that in and covering it up. Don't like the space on the back of the headboard where you put the wrench in to screw the main panel of the headboard to the sides. You have to put the bed against the wall to cover these up. Otherwise, it is rock solid with great support. For the price, you can't beat it.

Delivery of the bed was super fast but upon opening the package I noted that the headboard had a major crack in it. I called overstock and they immediately made me feel at ease about having the bed replaced. A replacement headboard was sent out within a few days. No cracks on the second bed. The bed is of high quality. The wood is heavy and very sturdy. The color is exactly as shown. I am very satisfied with my purchase as I have been with my previous purchases. I would definitely recommend buying this product.

A very nice wood bed, it looks great and I am very happy, I already had the night stands. The assembly was not bad either, there were some minor problems, but like I say they were just minor. I would recommend this bed to anybody. Just hope the chest to this bed will be available again, in the near future. Thanks Overstock. I purchased this bed based on the overwhelming number of positive and helpful reviews printed here...and I'm glad I did! Firstly, the three boxes arrived quickly and intact with no visible problems. When opened, all three boxes revealed pristine parts, packaged well. Kudos to whoever designed the packaging. Secondly, the instructions could not be clearer. Add to that the tips picked up from the reviews here on overstock.com and wow, I was impressed before I turned a single screw to assemble my new bed. Based on the tips I picked up from others' reviews, I want to share ways to make assembly go quickly, especially if working by oneself. Unpacking: Examine all parts and, based on the ordered of instructions lay them out in an easy to find place next to your work area. Snip open the small plastic bags containing the hardware. My kit had at least one additional piece of hardware in every bag. Don't worry about dust and small bits of Styrofoam that have adhered to the wood. Clean those up later (See below). Read: Spend a several minutes with the instructions. They really are very good. Tools/Equipment Used : Electric drill with assorted small drill bits and phillips head bit, rubber mallet, 4mm ball-end hex wrench (provided), and 5mm hex wrench (provided), Petrolatum. With these tools, assembly really is a snap. Headboard: Skip the superglue and simply tap in the dowels as an alignment device. Assemble the headboard upside down to start and flip over. My kit came with a ball-end hex wrench...an invaluable, time-saving tool! If your kit does not come with one, buy one immediately. ET 35 min. Footboard: The holes for the center rail supports looked small, so I drilled them out a little. I applied a little petrolatum to the screw threads and screwed them in with my phillips head bit. ET 5 min. Side Rails: The long narrow boxes can double as supports while attaching the side rails to the headboard/footboard. Just lay them down parallel with the headboard/footboard and lay the side rails on top. When assembled per the instructions, it's now the perfect time to clean/dust all the assembled solid wood parts. ET 20 min. Support rails: Lay them all out on the side rails, using the extra 80mm bolt as a spacer. If you have no extra 80mm bolt, cut a piece of cardboard to 80mm width (3.15 in.) and use as a template to space the 14 rails. Use a little petrolatum or bar soap to lubricate the screw threads and drop them in the holes. Screw them all in with your phillips head bit. ET 30 min. Stand Back: Look at what you've done! It's a beautiful, solid piece of furniture. Elapsed Time: Unpacking, 30 min. Reading, 15 min. Assembly, 90 min. Packing Material Disposal, 20 min. I highly recommend this bed to anyone!

After reviewing tons of beds online, we decided to get this for our guest room. The price was great, and it is a really sturdy bed. The headboard was not as high as expected. The directions to put the bed together was clearly labeled and it took us about a couple of hours. The color is more of deep dark brown. However, my only complaint was that the wood had a funny smell. Otherwise, the bed was better than I expected.
