I would purchase a different lamp!
This lamp looked elegant in the photo and was certainly a good price. However, when I was putting the lamp together I was able to see how poorly constructed it was. The top glass part of the lamp does not fit the decorative rim and there is actually a gap between glass and metal. Since it doesn't fit, the top part of the rim is crooked. There was also a broken piece of metal on the rim. The lamp is sitting in my living room right now and every time I look at it I am disappointed. It it too difficult to get back in the box and return, or I would definitely do so. I would strongly suggest that in spite of the good price, you purchase a different lamp. The quality of this lamp is very poor.

Torchiere floor lamp provide great lighting
Excellent lamp for the price. It is a nice design, easy to assemble, generally sturdy and well made. The only negative is that the trim around the glass globe is flimsy. The base is heavier than I expected, which makes it less prone to tip over.
