Traditions White and Cherry Island with Two Stools

If you are proficient at assembling furniture this probably won't be as much of a challenge for you as it was for me! The directions were clear but the pieces didn't necessarily go together in order. I had to be a little creative to have it come together. You do have to pound ends- carefully with a mallot. I also had to position the unit differently to work with the different sections One of the cabinet doors doesn't stay closed. I originally saw this on QVC but it was much less $ and no S&H on the O. If I had paid more for this unit, I'd be dissappointed so it's OK- though I think it could be easily shipped in 2 boxes assembled except for the top at the same price. I think the island could easily accommodate 4 so I may purchase 2 more stools for the ends.

• How did the color on site compare with the actual product? OK- it is white!
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. Fair. A crack on 1 piece though not broken but had to fit piece around it. Also had to use 2 longer bolts as the small ones didn't grab on 2 decorative pieces. There is a chip on the base trim and a couple of dings here and there. But not worth the hasstle to send back over. It took me alone probably 12 hrs. to unpack all the pieces and assemble the unit. The top is heavy and thick, so I did need help lifting it in place then the screwholes don't match up. It was suggested to me to put on silicone adhesive to set the top. Over all it's not as solid a piece as I expected. I'm not sure how it will hold up over time. But it looks nice.
• How accurate was the on site description of the product? In a general sense it was accurate but there are 4 heavy boxes not 3.
