I know many of the reviews for this flatware set were excellent, but I still had my doubts as I am admittedly overly fussy. The weight of each piece is well balanced in your hand. The edges of each piece are nicely rounded and highly polished, the finish on my two sets was flawless (not necessarily the case with higher end flatware I've handled).The resting position of the knife is with the blade vertical - it is designed so a very small area, high up on the non business end of the blade is in contact with your table. The shape of each piece is a bit exaggerated and they are a slightly larger than I expected but all in all a SUPER buy and fine quality. One flatware box comes with each set, I found one box held two sets easily.

We were hesitant about buying flatware we'd never held in our hands. This one is a winner, fortunately. The other reviews were right: nice, heavy feel, good shape, smooth finish. Very comfortable flatware that feels well made and solid. The knives are weird but when you get used to them they are fantastic. Also, they look pretty slick on the table. Recommended.

This silverware is beautifully crafted and elegant but yet sturdy enough for every day use. The way the knife handles are shaped, are much easier to use, according to my opinion. Their easier to grip, especially if you have weak or arthritic hands. Great Buy!

This flatware is the greatest! I had returned another set from Overstock; there wasn't a glaring flaw, it just didn't feel or look up to my expectations, even though it was higher-priced. I hit the jackpot with this set. It is wonderfully simple and graceful, balanced in the hand. I love the knives! And the storage box is an incredible bonus. We have been using this set for over a year now and so far, only the knives have disappointed us. It does not stay very well on the plates because of the design and it also began to have sone rusty spots. The silverware are still shiny despite the countless times it went through the dishwasher. I'll buy one of these again but only if they change the knife design so it doesn't fall off the plate each time.

I purchased two sets of this flatware, hoping for the best. I got it! I love these and so do my family and guests. They are solid and heavy, look good with a variety of dinnerware. Have had them for a year or more and, though they are not used daily, they are in excellent condition...no scratching or marks. The knives have an interesting balance..will rest steadily only with the blade up or down, not on their sides...they actually flip into that preferred position. Conversation starter!

I was replacing my Hafnia set by Yamazaki - ($XX per place setting) so this set was up against some VERY high standards. I absolutely LOVE this silverware. The knives sit on the blade which I love. I've gotten a ton of complements on them. They are SUPER strong (even for the hardest of ice cream, these spoons will not bend!). I can't say enough great things about them.

I like how these look, and the weight of them in your hand, but I don't like how they are balanced. The forks tend to fall off your plate if they are too close to the edge. The knives are nearly impossible to keep on your plate. Also yesterday I took knives out of the dishwasher and they had rust on them. Not what I expected from a Towle product.

I was tired of flatware sets that were light weight and rusted easily so I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this set. I checked the brand on other web sites and read several reviews. Overstock definitely offered the BEST price and we really couldn't be happier with the purchase. We have had the set for just over a year now and we use it every day and run it through the dishwasher. Other than a few minor scratches that are to be expected from daily use, there is no rusting and no bending. We get compliments all the time on the style! I bought this set for myself to replace some old flatware and I absolutely love them! They are a nice heavy weight. I like the different angle of the knife handle. It fits comfortable in your hands. The caddy is really nice too. Unfortunately, I can't use the caddy in my drawer b/c it's just a little too big. So, make sure to measure it if you're using it, but in any case, this set is really nice and definitely worth the price even if I can't use the caddy.

I purchased this flatware as a house warming gift for my daughter. She lives in California, therefore, I have not actually seen the set. However, my daughter reports that she is very pleased with the set. She specifically described the fine quality and weight of the flatware. My daughter is not easy to please. Therefore, I am thrilled that she is happy with the gift.

I never questioned weather or not this was going to be a good flatware set, but it totally exceeded my expectations. It's to nice to put away an use occansionally-I use it daily. The flatware looks beautiful when displayed in dark colored- and spacious caddy. It has a great weight when in hand and a very smooth finish. No spotting when washed if you use a good dishwasher soap. Packaged nicely and received undamaged when arrived. THere is just nothing bad to say about it. Spend a little extra and look impressive when you pull it out to use. Everyone who touches it will comment on it!

the Towle Barren flatware is beautiful and the craftmanship is excellent. This is an outstanding value.There has been only one problem-after cleaning in the dishwasher there was a small amount of rust on the serrated edge of the knives.

I bought this set after read reviews for several sets. I've also seen this set on sale at Macy's for higher price. The product arrived fast and in a nice packaging. I am very happy with this purchase.
