    • My father will be having chemo treatments on his esophagus tumor and I understand there will be metallic tastes in his mouth for the duration. Paperwork from his oncologist suggested loading up on plastic flatware so as to avoid the additional metallic taste of stainless steel silverware, but Dad hates plasticware for their notorious breakability. Besides that, if I have to buy enough to keep him in plasticware three meals a day, plus three snacks, for weeks, possibly months, this will add up. The bamboo flatware seemed like a terrific alternative.
