I bought this table because I have limited space for dining in my apartment. The black finish with the slate and the straight lines of the design make it feel very elegant. The glass top is very heavy and has beveled edges which also add to it's appearance. The table is 37" high to the top of the table, but the table has a 2" lip, leaving only 35" of space for seating under the table. Perhaps that was the problem the other customers had. I've bought non-matching chairs to go with the table and have no problem with the arrangement. It took about 30 minutes for me to put the table together myself, and the instructions were very easy to follow. The table was missing some of the inserts, and I contacted overstock and they shipped out the missing pieces without any hassle. All in all another great find on overstock.

This table and chair set looks beautiful but the problem is that there is not enough room between the table top and the seat of the chair. The table looks really great though so I will go look for something to make the table sit up a bit higher and give us more room before returning this item. It was also a pain in the neck to put together.

Love the look of the Table. The only problem is that slates don't match, but once the glass was overtop you can't really tell.

THIS IS BEUTIFUL. IF YOUR NOT HANDY IT MAY BE A LITTLE HARD TO PUT TOGETHER, I FOUND IT TO BE SIMPLE. THE ONLY DOWN FALL IS THAT IT IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM BETWEEN THE CHAIRS AND TABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT U PUT SOMETHING TO ELEVATE THE TABLE. THIS IS A SMALL PROBLEM, THE ELEGLANCE OF THE TABLE WILL OUT WAY THIS FLAW, I CAN'T STOP LOOKING AT THIS TABLE I LOVE IT!
