So far I have only used the cultivator one time. I followed the starting directions and it started the first time, ran well, and did a good job of cultivating my garden. This was not new ground but I have had the garden there before. I used to turn the ground with a shovel, The cultivator is really a back saver and a time saver.

This machine does an excellent job on small areas and small gardens. The only complaint I have is that the tines are so close to the body it catches alot of small rocks that jam the machine. I had to stop tilling several times to unjam and remove the rocks. Just a small irritation for a small tiller that does a big job.

I was a Mantis user for many years. When it finally gave up the ghost, I went to purchase a new one. But the 300.00 price tag was a little more than I could afford. I began looking for an alternative. So far I am more than happy. The durability seems worth the low cost and the sand weight tank makes it a little easier to get deep furrows the dislodge the lower layers of soil. The refurbished model I purchased seems better than the new ones because all the "bugs" are gone. It works for me. I didn't rate the durability high because I have only had this machine for two months.
