I got the chair but couldn't put it together. It seems that the leather seat may be a little too small/tight to stretch it across to reach the last of the 4 holes. Any suggestions?

Moises Alvarez Santti was born in the region of Ayacucho, Peru, on July 18, 1958. When he turned 15 years old, he moved to Lima to study leather and woodcrafts under the guidance of his uncle.
After six years of apprenticeship I felt ready to start a workshop with my brother, Moises explains. Sadly, my brother passed away in 1980. Meanwhile, I was left with the huge responsibility of carrying on with the day-to-day activities of running the workshop. I've managed to maintain our business through a lot of hard work. And in doing so, I proudly honor his memory.
To me, my art is the way through which I can express my country's culture, just like my ancestors did. I want to preserve our history and our culture so that it will survive the passing of time while transmitting the essence of Peru.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

it was a nightmare putting this thing together and then I broke one of the little stumps off the leg. I actually don't like the "claws" at the bottom of the legs.Read More
I love it. Great conversation piece. Looks great in my bedroom.Read More
My husband and I are thrilled with this stool. I am using it as an ottoman as I write this review. This piece is very functional as it is also a comfortable additional seat, or end table as well as an ottoman. The workmanship is beautiful and blends in well with our other items of interest from various places we or friends have visited. We are also pleased to be supporting fair trade artisans. The packaging was excellent, the best I have ever seen. The stool was treated as a fine work of art. This was a win-win purchase.Read More
Truly a beautiful piece! I wasn't strong enough to put it together myself (the legs fit snuggly into carved notches and needed more muscle than I have to get them in place), but my 22 yr old son was albe to do it without too much trouble. We are using is both as an ottoman and as additional seating by the fireplace. It's VERY sturdy & gets lots of compliments!Read More
This is a beautiful stool and the directions for putting it together were good. It would have been more helpful to have the last instruction about the use of glue as the first instruction! I have osteoarthritis in my hands and was still able to put the stool together.Read More
I was so impressed with this stool, it is really a work of art. It is heavy, sturdy and made with so much thought and care. I was worried about the assembly but what it is, is the legs have a extra piece of wood that slides into a hole on the other side. Some reccomend putting a little wood glue into the hole to make it more sturdy but it doesn't make a difference in my opinion. The leather seat is so thick and the art work on it is just amazing. This stool could easily sell for double the price for the quality and size. I use mine as a stool by my front door and also as an ottoman in my living room. I am so happy yet again with Overstock.com!!!Read More
We wanted a small size furniture to fill in an open space close to the fireplace in our multi-culture themed living room. We also wanted it to be able to use it as extra seat or serving tray holder whenever it's needed. It really works well both ways. It's otherwise a piece of art sitting against our warm toned wall.Read More
The craftsmanship on this stool is amazing! It's truly a work of art. My only issue, if you can call it that, is that the stool is larger than I pictured it in my mind. I planned to use this as a foot stool, but it's quite large and more suitable to use as seating or as an accent table. I will definitely check out the other items made by Moises Alvarez Santti.Read More
The tooling on the leather seat is really beautiful, as is the carving on the wood legs. Well-crafted, sturdy. Easy to assemble, but remember to have wood glue on hand.Read More
Gorgeous! I can't believe I never reviewed my favorite possession. The richness and authenticity of the work shames anything machine-made. It's a stool, high enough for seating comfort, and an ottoman as well. It also can serve as a table; I would eat soup from it, but I have served coffee. The colorful embossed leather begs you to stroke it. Gorgeous!Read More

How to Choose a Wood Lathe
Wood lathes are simple machines that allow you to make beautifully symmetrical woodwork. Wood lathes consist of an electric motor, two points, called the "headstock" and the "tailstock," and a chisel or gouge. As the motor turns the piece of wood secured between the headstock and the tailstock, the chisel carves. With a wood lathe in your collection of power tools, you'll be able to make a wide variety of items, including wooden pens, table legs, banisters and even wooden salad bowls. Although lathes are fairly simplistic tools, finding the right lathe for you can take some time and research.
How to Care for Wooden Spoons
Wood has long been used for eating utensils, serving utensils and preparation tools. Wooden spoons are a cooking essential and also a beautiful addition to your kitchen and dining experience. On the practical side, these lightweight yet strong utensils are great for tossing salads and serving everything from mashed potatoes to green beans. Wooden spoons are also the perfect preparation tools for use with nonstick pans. Cleaning and general care of wooden spoons differs, however, from the cleaning and care of metal utensils. Wood expands in water, so soaking the spoons in dishwater is generally not advised. Aside from a few basic rules of care, however, it is not difficult to keep wooden spoons looking like new.
How to Maintain Bar Stools
No home bar can survive without some comfortable bar stools. Bar stools come in a variety of styles and sizes to match any decor and bar height. You can find anything from swivel bar stools and wooden bar stools to high-gloss metal bar stools in any color imaginable. After you've purchased the perfect bar chairs for your room, you'll want to ensure they last as long as possible. Maintaining your bar stool set depends on the material and style that you have purchased. Each bar stool should be checked every few months for loose bolts and connections. A loose bolt can cause the stool to collapse. Other than that, kitchen bar stools and counter stools should be cared for depending on material. Here are a few tips to make sure your bar stools last as long as possible.
How to Season Wooden Spoons Before Use
Wooden spoons offer many benefits when used as preparation tools when cooking and baking. Wooden spoons are sturdy enough to mix even the thickest ingredients and yet gentle enough to avoid scraping your non-stick cookware. Wooden spoons have health benefits as well, since wood is naturally resistant to many types of bacteria. Before you use wooden spoons, you should season them according to the manner in which you intend to use them. This will help them last longer, repel odors and perform even better.

How to Use a Belt Sander
A belt sander allows the operator to quickly sand the surface of a piece of wood with a minimum amount of physical effort. Because the belt sander is a power tool and the belt moves at such high speeds, it does not require as much pressure to strip off the top layer of the wood as it would if you were using a sheet of sandpaper. Belt sanders, like all power tools, are especially important for large home improvement projects, like building a deck or refinishing cabinets, because they can sand a lot of surface area very quickly.

Proper maintenance will result in a well-seasoned serving bowl, which will become more aromatic with age.
