I got four of the Tomkin Mesh Bar Stools for my breakfast bar and they are working just great. I like this classic modernist design that is airy and light -- yet offers a remarkable level of support. The lines are geometric yet graceful and go perfectly with the heavily chromed design of my contemporary kitchen. Overall, I am very pleased with this item and am happy to recommend it highly.

As a big fan of modernist architecture and design, I am especially in love with these chairs, which are based on the classic 1955 chair designed by Harry Bertoia. They look beautiful along one side of my island kitchen, and thanks to their light, airy feel, they don't take up a lot of visual space. They are sturdy, well constructed, and best of all, the price is very affordable. Great product.

This is a great barstool based on the classic modern Bertoia line of mesh seating. If you can't afford the original this is a good alternative. However, the stool came in a box without anything inside to keep it from shifting. The stool actually arrived at my house with the feet sticking out through the side of the box and the bottom falling out of the box. Luckily the chair is completely wrapped in a small strip of bubble wrap or it would have been in terrible shape. Putting it together was a pain as well since the screws that attach the seat to the legs were too long, so the seat would not sit snug to the legs and would wobble if you tried to sit in it. I was able to fix it with some new screws, but very inconvienent. The stools turned out great in the end, but it was more work than it should have been.

This is a nice take on the classic Bertoia wire mesh chair that is known to NYC cognoscenti as being the chair that the Museum of Modern Art uses in its sculpture garden. The original 1955 design won the Certificate of Merit from the American Institute of Architects. This update raises the chair to make it an elevated stool, which is a simple yet elegant modification. I purchased four of these to surround a work table in my studio and they are just perfect. Light, airy, yet strong, with a striking silhouette. Overall, very pleased with the purchase.

These are super bold, so not for those who are shy when it comes to interior décor, but if you can pull it off, then you'll have guests and family members like raving about your great choice! I want to express my extreme pleasure with these stools. The wire mesh is industrial but the form is sleek and modern. I've long been an admirer of this style and am thrilled to have added them to my home.

What a stylish bar stool! I love the modern style and simplicity. I wasn't expecting for shipping to be so quick so I had them in time for a relaxing weekend at home.

This is obviously a reproduction of a Harry Bertoia piece and it's a decent one, if I say so myself. The front edges of the seat tend to dig into your leg if you sit too long and you can't sit sideways in these. But, it's all in the design.

I have always wanted a bertoia chair, and I needed bar stools, so this was a natural. The box was mangled as others have reported but the stools come packed in swaddling clothes, so they were in fine shape underneath. The bolts that hold the seat to the base are ok, they work, but I'm sure the real bertoia stools have a more elegant fastener. It matters more because I will not be using the seat pads- they are of pathetic quality, basically junk. Fortunately the stools look better and are almost as comfortable without them. Overall, given the options and the solidity of the product notwithstanding the pads, it was a good buy.

Love the stools but the chair pads that come with them bunch up when sitting for periods of time and don't stay in place. Comfortable to sit in but may be a little to high for a normal height kitchen island bar.

Arrived packaged perfectly as have all items I have ordered from O.com. The bar chairs are high end sturdy. They look perfect in my contemporary home around our granite island. I saw almost identical bar chairs on an HGTV special of a decorators home. I am pleased with the look and the construction.

I bought two of these...they are just as pictured, very nice...fast shipping...good packaging....but you can´t seat for too long without getting a bruise, even wearing jeans!!...it happened to me and one of my friends...i really like them so i tried fixing the seat pad in a better position and also bought comfy black seat pads for everyday use so problem solved. in other words...very nice looking item, just not very comfortable for long periods of time.

I bought this for my kitchen. It came very quickly and was simple to put together. The box it came in was a bit trashed, but nothing was damaged so it was a non-issue. This chair is affordable and looks great, just as it does online. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cost-effective modern touch.

I have ordered three from this Tomkin Mesh Bar Stool with Leatherette Seat Pad for my new kitchen. The design is simple but at the same time complex. The steel wire mesh with chrome feel and leatherette seat pad might seem confusing and disturbing, but in this chair the combination is perfect resulting in a pleasant look and great style. The bar stools are perfectly comfortable and looking great on an amazing price.

I adore this combination of retro chick and contemporary design. As soon as I saw it I fell in love with this bar stool with leatherette seat pad. I love the Tomkin bar stools! They were easy to put together and look exactly as they do in the picture. They are sturdy and I find them to be more comfortable than I thought they'd be. I've received several compliments on them. If you are looking for a decent imitation of a Bertoia bar stool or to add some mid century accents to your room, I highly recommend these...

But HUH? the clasp plates don't secure the chair seat to the frame in quite the way you would expect. I will probably have to add a washer or nut to the bolt that screws into the clasp, otherwise it doesn't seat properly. Other than that, EXCELLENT replica, I have original BERTOIA chairs in orange and green Naugahyde in my living room--stool is for my retro-themed kitchen.

I ordered the stools on a Sunday and received it on Tuesday. I was very happy with them. I love the product!!! Nothing was defected out of the 8 we purchased!!!
