The lamp is very pretty and the shade is well made, that being said I would never buy anything made by this manufacturer again. The lamp pole comes in several pieces which have to be screwed togeher. There is a bolt end which screwes into the other end of the pole. The problem is the end to which the bolt screws into. The pole is made of what appears to be very, very light weight aluminum, the threaded area is extremely thin, with very soft threads. When we screwed the pieces together it was almost impossible to not strip out these threads, I striped the second connection I put together and my husband despite being very careful stripped another. The result is , I have a prettty shade an base and no pole as it will not stay together. I either have to find another pole to use or trash the lamp!! I bought another similar lamp from another manufacturer and had no trouble at all, so it can't be that we just don't know what we are doing.
