I originally purchased this lamp due to the original onsite picture showing more pink hues. The current on line picture is much more accurate. The lamp is beautiful and regardless of the discrepancy I am very pleased with the purchase and would certainly recommend.
Did the color match the color displayed onsite? Not the origianl onsite picture however matches the current
How is the quality of the product? very good
Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? yes
This lamp is better and bigger than anticipated. I like the black and gold base. And the lamp shade is very colorful. The reason I could not give it 5 stars is because the color is not like the one that is pictured in the ad for this lamp. There is not very much pink in this lamp shade. It is mostly teal. Fortunately my furniture is pink and teal so it looks good. I am very pleased with the quality of this lamp. And it gives off much more light than other Tiffany style lamps because of having two 60 watt light bulbs. I haven't tried the CFC bulbs but I am going to. This lamp is an excellent value for the money and I am very pleased.
For those of you looking for what is described on this page, look elsewhere. I am pretty experienced with Tiffany style lamps. My family owns several high-quality lamps of this sort, and my mother is a collector of rare lamps from around the world, so I know the difference between good and bad quality versions. This is advertised as being made of glass, with a base (as stated by an employee under the "Product Q&A" tab) made of plated steel. These are both completely false; the shade is made of unmistakably plastic pieces, and the base is very lightweight for its size, and I'm guessing is made of resin. If you don't believe me (or the other customers who have left similar reviews) then maybe this will convince you: the entire package, including the lamp, box, and packaging, weighs 17 lbs. This lamp, almost 30 inches tall and 20 inches wide, made supposedly of glass and steel, weighs less than 17 lbs? Something is wrong here. My parents own a similar, but much smaller, lamp that actually does have a steel base, and it is difficult and awkward to carry, at half the size of this one.
When I saw this lamp for this price and read the description, I thought it just seemed "too good to be true." Unfortunately, it was! If you are just looking for something relatively inexpensive and are not necessarily concerned with quality, this may indeed be a good buy for you. But if you are looking for glass and steel, save your money and look elsewhere. This lamp is a great example of the old saying, "You get what you pay for."
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Same
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Low Quality
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Very Inaccurate
I got mine yesterday and was quite surprised how awesome it was compared to what I read... I don't know where people got that it was plastic! Mine is all glass and beautiful glass at that.. The colors are amazing and I can't wait to order a floor lamp to go with it. Now back to looking for that floor lamp.. Thanks "O"
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Exactly like the picture.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Beautiful and built nicely... not heavy like the old ones.
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Right on as the picture shows.
The blue is definitely more teal than the photo shows, but that's one of the reasons I like it. Very colorful and quite a nice-looking lamp. However, it's not glass but acrylic. However, I suppose if you wanted real glass it would cost more. But I do like it.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? As others have pointed out, more teal than blue & not much pink.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Good
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Sort of accurate
the blue is more tealish. The lamp is beautiful lit and not as nice not lit as many i have....but lit it is beautiful so i kept it because i could not part with something so pretty lit
it ids just one of those lamps that is not a dramatic unlit
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? good but color is when lit
Please tell us about the quality of the product. good. nice glass work
How accurate was the on site description of the product? somewhat
We ordered these lamps after perusing the large stock available, we made our decision based on looks and the fact that in the details tab the materials listed are Glass, Plated metal and electrical components. We were disappointed to find upon arrival the the bases are in fact resin that is not disclosed in the description which we found to be unsatisfactory as many of the less expensive lamps do disclose the bases to be resin. We are returning them based on this only. The shades appear to be good quality, although we did not assemble the lamps and illuminate them, if it were'nt for the resin bases we would have kept them. The return process seems quite painless so far, if it turns out to be an issue, I'll update my review. So, other than the resin issue, the transaction was satisfactory and I will not hesitate to buy from O-stock again.
Hello Is the lamp base plated steel or resin as suggested by a couple of reviewers? It seems plated steel would not have much weight. If resin and solid, it would. Is something put over the stained glass that makes it feel like plastic? (again idea from reviewers) Read this on quite a few stained glass pieces and turned out it was true stained glass. Trying to understand the discrepancies. Thanks! Jeaniethepersonalshopper on Dec 29, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hi Jeanie, we were able to verify this information with our support team. We verified that the base is indeed made of poly resin. Also, this and all Chloe tiffanies are made from hand cut art glass, never plastic. It’s quite a process. We hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 2, 2014
