Bought one lamp to light a corner. Liked it so much that I purchased a second for opposite corner of the same wall. The lamp is more beautiful and classier than the picture online -- the colors of the crosshatches include shades of amber, gold, brown, red, green which nicely set off the diamond-like shapes which are mottled cream to amber. To my eye, the online picture looks like white diamonds/yellow crosshatching. The circular designs at the top are also warmer and richer in person. The soldering lines are a bit thick and rough when viewed up close, but for a torchiere used in a corner that is not a concern. I'd have bought these lamps even after examining up close in a store setting.
I recieved my lamp 5 days after I ordered it and its very pretty. very colorful and I love that it hasan on and off switch on the floor you can just step on it. My dad is handicapped and that works out perfectly for him. It is a nice way to have a tiffany style lamp at a lower price. Next time I will up grade to the glass globe kind. The globe on this is plastic. you really cant tell unless you touch it.
The only thing missing is a power switch on top. It has the foot switch which is great, but I'd like an optional switch on the lamp itself too.
I purchased both the Torchiere and the table lamp that matched. The torchiere was very easy to put together and actually bigger than I expected. Both of the lamps are beautiful and sit proudly in my living room. I have never had a lamp that turned on from a foot switch and like this feature. My dog does lay on the switch from time to time and turn the lamp on when I am not expecting it but that's kind of fun. The colors in the lamps are rich and make the room look more inviting. Having worked in stained glass, I know what it should look like and these are axactly as described. If I had moreroom, I think I would buy more of them.
This torchiere lamp is BEAUTIFUL! I've been drooling over it for ages and finally ordered it. It arrived in no time at all and I couldn't believe how easy it was to 'assemble'. The 'floor' switch is really handy and easy to use and the lamp is just the right size. But the best part is... IT'S ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Don't know why I waited so long!
