This piece is stunning. The colors are vibrant and include reds, blues, pale greens, gold and black. It arrived quickly (gotta love Overstock), very well packaged and had no issues with the hinges although it does have a strong varnish smell when opening the lid so I won't be storing anything inside of it for awhile. I have this piece in my living room used as a coffee table, the scale is perfect. It's very authentic looking, something one might bring home from their travels in Tibet. It's unusual and unique while still being functional, I'm very pleased.

I was looking for something to give my living room a touch of color. This red chest fills the bill beyond my expectations. The rich red is enhanced by black and muted yellow and green engravings of dragons and flowers on the chest. The inside is a fine looking wood which looks very rich, as well. The chest is a good size and it is a perfect place to store my collection of boots. It would work well to store extra blankets, comforters and/or linens. I am so happy I bought it and would give it 5 stars.

Looks even better in person than in the picture.. The packing was awesome.. four boxes inside of boxes. Yes, it does have an odor when opened, but so original.. really makes a statement as a coffee table in my room.

Another WOW! from O.com!!! The wood used to make this chest appears to be very, very old. I have a feeling that it was salvaged from something no longer usable. The craftsmanship is of an ancient style -- with each piece "joined" -- just as one sees in antiques in the U.S. The painting is beautiful! And this piece is SOLID!!! It will last forever, if taken care of properly. I LOVE IT!!! (And so does everyone in the family :-)

I just got my chest and I love it! I far exceeds my expectations! It is a very high qulity piece. The paintings on the chest are truly breathtaking! The painting are also textured to show the scales on the dragons! If that wasn't enough, It has a lot of storage inside! It looks great in our living room, and it also serves a purpose as a storage unit, LOVE IT!!!!

As previous reviews, this is an excellent artwork and a great buy! At one point, I was debating on buying it because I had an eye for an antigue Tibetan trunk but I was on a budget but still want the quality artwork...well I did some research on similar items and decided this. I am very happy I did! Do not resist to purchase this fine trunk. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!! Also, shipping was fast! Always happy with Overstock!!

I am on a tight budget and should not have purchased this truck, but I am glad I did, Love it!Came fully assembled.Good quality.I would not have bought this without the good reviews.To me ,not bright red,more muted..I am hooked now,would like more Tibetan furniture for my home.

I bought this on the strength of the previous reviews, and I just received it today. First, is was packed in four layers for protection--very impressive. When I finally got to the trunk, I was just delighted with the beautiful designs, solid construction, and perfect size for a coffee table!! I can't wait to get in in the living room......

This trunk is a lovely ART piece but not the most practical trunk or table. It reaks of varnish and you will need to line it well,so your contents do not reak as well. And possibly a piece of plexiglass on top to keep the paint from chipping. I have gotten cheaper trunks that were made alot better. But my initial attraction to it was the Tibetan art ,which I love. The red paint did not appear as bright as on the website. And I will probably go over the yellow with a brighter shade to make it POP a bit more. Some of the paint had already flaked off and several nails had fallen out upon recieving it. I had to hammer about 4 of the nails back in and will need to fill in the flaked off areas. Also the top of the trunk does not sit well when opening it. It just puts tension on the nails causing them to loosen again .So I will have to see if I can drill screws in instead, without ruining the paint. I wish I could give it a better review as I had high hopes for this trunk. It would be more of a hassle to send such a big piece back , so I've decided to just keep it and make the necessary repairs. It is at least, pleasing to the eye. I would only recommend it, if you are willing to put a lil elbow grease into maintainig its appearance.

The product arrived well wrapped and producted and looks beautiful in my home. One possible improvement is finishing the bottom of the piece so there are no shar edges since these can scratch wood flooring or catch on rugs. Otherwise Bravo!

It is spectacular. The workmanship is very fine. The colors are vibrant but not obnoxious.

I love this piece. The outside is colorful and decorative, and the trunk is very useful for storing linens and other seasonal items.
