Customer Reviews
This little cabinet far exceeded my expectations. It's a lovely showpiece with beautiful hand-painted designs and finish, almost jewel-like. Although the description mentions dark green, there really is no green that I can detect, so let's just say the background color is dark -- but very attractive. (The photo reveals no such color either.) I'm totally delighted with this purchase, which was preceded by a long search both online and in stores. And no assembly required! Also nice to know that it supports the native crafts of the expatriate Tibetan community in northern India.
I looked everywhere on the Web for a small chest, and this was the only one which was the right size. I was hesitant to order when a couple of reviewers said the chest was nothing like the picture. My experience was the opposite. The chest was carefully described and pictured in the online catalog, and turned out to be exactly as described and pictured. The lacquer work is exquisite, and the colors subtle and warm. The traditional craftsmanship was excellent. It doesn't hold a lot (the internal dimensions are much smaller than the overall dimensions would suggest) but is a great place to store card games etc. My order was swiftly shipped and delivered. The chest was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

This little chest is a lovely small piece of furniture, but the design differs significantly from the photo. Since it's very small, I put a painting above it and floor plants next to it. It has created a special little place in a formerly empty hallway.

The photographs of this little cabinet are great - however the actual cabinet looks NOTHING like the photos. The painted surface is sketchy - dragons look more like centipedes. Sorry I ordered this
