They're PLAID!
I ordered seven of these shades for our new construction house. Guess I should have just ordered one to see how it looked. These shades are PLAID! I can't believe no other reviewer mentioned this! I wish Overstock allowed photos to better show you. The bamboo runs horizontally: there are nine tiny, light sticks, followed by one larger dark stick, all the way down the shade. That's pretty standard and something you'd see in stores. The unusual part - the plaid - appears in the string used to hold the shade together. Running vertically, the string goes in a rainbow from light tan to dark brown over and over, repeated all the way across the shade. The overall effect is a brown plaid bamboo shade! It's the strangest thing I've ever seen. The quality seems quite good, but I've only played with them to see if the plaid I see when they're draped across a chair is there when I hold them up to the window. It is. Back to Overstock these go. Really, plaid bamboo shades, how odd!
