Mixed feelings on this purchase
I fell in love with this bed while trying to find something in a twin that still had a whimsical feel for a 2 1/2 y/o. My Son fell out of his toddler bed constantly which is leasing him to stay in my bed which is not ideal. A major inaccuracy in the description of this bed is that you can only use a 6 inch thick mattress. (Not any standard twin mattress per current description) Of course I bought one before I got the instruction manual and ended up with an 8 inch mattress. Overstock said they would change that. I also ended up with a foot-board with no predrilled holes to connect the center piece to. (The piece you see when the shelves are open.) Supposedly the company will send me another, but I am impatient and it took a while to get the bed, so I improvised. While I was off a little the bed itself is great, love the look. Except for the scratches it has already picked up. We all know kids are rough, but having just finished it today my wife already cried over the damage it has picked up. So if you need something that is going to look perfect for a while, find a different bed. If you arent handy, find a different bed. If youre up for a little challenge and a few scratches here or there, go for it. Just make sure you have the space for a 9 foot bed. This really should be highlighted in the description better.

Great product, I ordered 2 sets for my 9 year old
I ordered 2 sets for my 9 year old twins, they love them. I've put a lot of beds together, and these are the easiest to put together. The slight little problem with them is one of the two holes behind the headboard did not match up with the support bracket. But just lean it against the wall, it'll be fine. Awesome beds!!!!!

Kids love it! We got two.
The bed is just as pictured - we ordered a second after liking the quality and looks of the first one. It was not difficult to put together and all pieces arrived without damage. We did lower the interior rails as our mattresses are thicker than recommended and were pretty high over the bed - did not look too bad and was not a concern for sleeping, but I just wanted it lower. The storage is great and our kids love to put their 'pirate booty' in the compartments. I also like that the top does not lift as on some other boat beds as I fear it may close on one if my children while they are playing.. One consideration- the bed is LONG and takes up most of the space in the bedroom. We have a good sized room and do not have much other furniture in the room and the room is filled with the two beds. I figured the built in storage would serve as each child's extra space. (We do have a large closet for clothes and dresser, not sure the bed storage would be good for clothing). Great bed for the price!

Definitely a must for any kids room.
After looking at many boat/ ship beds for my 5 year old, he chose this one. The price is the lowest we found for a themed frame and it looks like it cost as much as the other high priced beds. This bed was not difficult to assemble and does take up a lot of room, so measure first. We have it diagonal with a pillow top mattress and it looks great ! We are as happy as our 5 year old.

Awesome bed!
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this bed at the price! I considered buying the Pottery Barn Kids version at $1700 and took a leap to buy this less expensive version instead. I am so glad I did that! This bed could not be any cuter in my new baby's room! Once he is out of a crib, I plan to buy a second one for friends to sleep over. Love this bed!!
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? well, in the picture, it looks like the stripe is navy, but it clearly states it's brown in the description. My bad for not reading that part. The good thing, it actually still looks sort of navy for some reason assembled in the room. So it works!
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. I was shocked at the quality- the "boat" wood is a thick, heavy, solid wood that looks wonderful. I was very impressed with the quality at that low of a price.

Awesome Bed!
I have been stalking every website for this boat bed for 4 years, ever since I first saw it on the JCPenney website. I was thrilled beyond words when I saw it on Overstock...and the price cannot be beat (believe me, I spent 4 years looking)!!! I can't say enough of good things about the bed. It was exactly as described, and the natural wood portions of the bed are a much better quality than I was expecting. It looks awesome it my son's room, and he goes to bed without a fuss these days. No negatives, but just a heads up for other buyers...it is a looong bed. So some rearranging in the room may be needed. Also, like some other readers have suggested, the regular 8" matresss made the bed a bit too high for my taste. I lowered the slats as suggested, so that the matress was flush with the edge of the bed, and it looks soooo much better. That's the only design flaw with this bed...but an easy fix, All of 15 minutes, and that too after the bed was assembled. Wish I had done it when I was putting it together, but like I said an easy fix.

This is so CUTE
This is a wonderful find, we had looked at several other "boat beds" for our grandson, they were either $1300.00 or really looked cheap. This is very well made, nice wood, sturdy and so attractive. We put this together ourselves in a couple hours, NO problems. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a naticual theme bed. THANKS OVERSTOCK !!!
