We've been looking for thermal curtains with an elegant sheen for a long time. I only found insanely expensive ones that came one panel to a package. These aren't as thick as most thermals but it does the job keeping our south facing master bedroom cool. The texture is a little plastic-like but that doesn't bother me. They look marvelous with their sheen and silk-like look.Bonus points because they're SO incredibly inexpensive for curtains in general, let alone thermals, let alone faux-silk AND it comes two panels to a bag. LOVE IT!
When I received the curtains, I was upset to see they were plastic-y. I was like DARN IT! Kept them for a few days trying to decide if I wanted to keep them. I decided to wash them (hand wash cycle, mild detergent) Then I air dried in the drier, which didn't work. I rolled the dice and placed them on low heat, 15 minutes. They came out AWESOME! The curtains are much softer and even the plastic-y backing feel soft and also all the creases are gone. So, out of the package, disappointed. After some TLC, I love them!
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? what I expected
These come folded like a map in a plastic package. They initially feel like a shower curtain. Throw them in the dryer with a wet towel to soften them up. Then you'll have to iron them since they will now be soft, but wrinkled! When you finally have them done and up, the are beautiful and look like silk with a little shimmer. They did take a bit of work to get them to look so nice. The cream color is not black-out quality, but that's not what I needed them for, so the lining is a nice touch for the living room. For the price and the ease of O.com, these are worth it.
I was looking for drapes, in white, that had a thermal backing. These looked nice in the picture. They said faux silk and I guess, from a distance they rather look like silk, but closer they look and feel like a plastic shower curtain. They are backed by a very thin layer of insulation that I doubt is going to go very far in keeping my room warmer.
I took some of the other reviewers advice when I received my curtains. I put them in the dryer on low/wrinkle release setting with two wet towels. They looked much softer and more like silk afterwards. Would recommend.
I have a three panel window that measures 96" across and 48" down. Will these curtains look right when I need to draw them completely closed?bgcg05 on Jan 18, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello bgcg05, for proper fullness, panel should measure two times the width of your window frame (not width of window). I hope this helps. Thank you for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 21, 2014
I believe they would look fine because of the great quality of the fabric and the way they hang. You just need to make sure you get an inch or two overlap for the 98" width of your windows if you expect them to overlap when completely drawn (i.e., closed).vivanm on Jan 24, 2014
Hello djpoley, other customers have not reviewed hemming them but if you had the right machine and know-how they probably would be pretty easy because they are reviewed as being thin. Please remember that any altercations to products may void the warranty or damage a product. Thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Dec 2, 2013
In product details it says that the Rod Pocket Curtain is available in taupe, indigo, khaki, cream, burgundy, etc. It does not mention white or silver, yet those colors show as an option. If they are available, how are they hung or what is different about that color option? Thank you!!peanut2013 on Sep 2, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello peanut2013, the silver and off white are noted on the first image below the title. The colors on the drop down options menu are the only colors we have available at this time. Thank you for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Sep 9, 2013

The tag says machine wash cold gentle cycle, line dry. I machine washed them and dried them on low and they came out great.klccakes on Mar 12, 2013
Washed ours in cold water, delicate cycle and spun dry for a very short while on regular spin cycle, then finished drying them over a rack. They came out just fine.cahrc on Mar 25, 2013
I am looking for white curtains. The off-white in the swatch above is an acceptable white. In the product detail it has 2 options, an off white and a white. I guess my question is how white is the off-white? and which photo in the image gallery shows the off-white?nadiamartin76 on Dec 11, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The features section refers to a class of curtain NOT to this particular one. This one comes in off white and cream. There is not a true white. The off white picture is labeled as such.overstockcustomercare1 on Dec 12, 2012
