DO NOT BUY

amhe from Queens, NY, Nov 12, 2009

I bought 6 of these, and they were really stiff, the backing is some kind of adhesive, and when I ironed them, at the recommedned temperature, they left see through lines where the creases were. I tried washing them, and this did soften them a bit, but the white adhesive backing came off in some parts and they have more see through patches. The adhesive aslo left a fine dusting on the curtain when it came off.I'm bummed that this happened as I usually like the things I get from Overstock, but this is the second item in two weeks that I ordered that wasn't acceptable quality. These panels were not even remotely acceptable.

thick and heavy!

Very nice quality - but are wrinkled out of the packaging - will have to wait to see if they 'relax'!

I thought it was good love the color i got the nutmeg for my bedroom. But when I put them up you can see all the spots where the backing is wore ,But I have alread put them in the dryer to get all the wrinkled out .They are heavy and I know they will keep out the cold that is what I'm looking for. It just sad that the backing is so soft and will not last.

Great value

somd from Southern Maryland, Oct 31, 2009

These are really good quality for the money. They are casual enough to match our decor yet sturdy enough to stand up to the south western exposure. The wrinkles come out with some dryer tumbling and ironing of course. Heavy material. Look forward to them keeping out drafts. Highly recommend.

Hoping For a Warmer Winter!

maddierae from Northern Indiana, Oct 24, 2009

As stated, these will keep light out and help with cold air retension, but they are SO heavy, they don't easily curve around regular rods, which is what I chose to use in order to keep drafts from coming in from around the sides of the windows. I washed them as instructed-hung them on the rods to dry, but noticed that the backing had started to come off, even with the most careful attention to avoid problems.I had purchased black-out drapes years ago and I had hoped they had changed in construction, but they haven't, which was a surprise after many years. For the money, they will do the job for one or two seasons, but won't be able to survive too many washings.
