'The Pier' 5-piece Hand Painted Canvas Art Set
ITEM#: 12299967Bring a touch of lakeside serenity to your everyday life with this beautiful five-piece canvas art set. The hand-painted panels of this pentaptych depict a wooden pier stretching out above calm waters, while a cloudy sky looms above the horizon. The central panel measures 16 inches x 39.5 inches; the panels next to that measure 16 x 24 inches; and the outer panels measure 12 inches square. The horizon line in each panel is slightly offset, rather than perfectly symmetrical, for a contemporary style that will make your home or office more inviting.

We absolutely love this canvas set. Looks great on our wall.Read More
The painting and techniques used are terrible. I knew it wouldn't be artist quality, but for the price I expected much better. The pier is "crackle finished", the colors overlap badly and the sky is matte black. You could get a better painting for half this price with a little shopping.Read More

I want to be able to give this five stars because the picture itself is wonderful. I like the simplicity of the design and the color scheme is nice. However the quality is such that I am not sure I will leave this up - even after my husband took the time and care to make sure it was hung properly. The horizon isn't level with the edge of each canvas. Throughout the painting there just isn't as much nuance to the water leading up to the horizon as I expected; it's just pure white. The main reason I am considering taking it down is the 4th panel looks like it was painted hastily. The space underneath of the dock is pure white and really stands out because there should be some continuation of the shading and shadow of the water and poles; also the poles don't quite reach the edge of the canvas so it makes it look like a child was trying to "stay in the lines" and chose to cut the poles a little short rather than go over the edge of the canvas. On the 5th panel the dock is pure gray, it has no additional color where there should be some continuation of the highlights that give the dock some texture. Overall, the separate pieces seem to have varying degrees of integrity. The signature on the 5th panel is way bigger than pictured too. Finally, although no one really tries to look at the canvas edges, they stand out to me because they are just sloppy with patches of black or white here and there. For something of this size (that begs to be hung high on a spacious wall) the canvas edges should be neatened up.Read More
I painted my living room gray, thinking it would up the "class factor" of the room. I have tall ceilings and some large wall space to fill. However, my room is in mostly tans and warm browns, so I don't know WHAT I wast thinking when I painted the room gray. HOWEVER, this piece of art caught my eye because I needed to accent the gray in my space. Even though this is more modern than my traditional living room, it is a lovely piece of art. The blacks are very black on the pier, and the oil paint is raised so that when you are up close, you can see the texture of the painting. It is a striking piece and does not clash w/ my traditional room. It is a brooding picture, and reminds me of the cold, dark, November days here in the Pacific Northwest with our Puget Sound as backdrop. If I could upload a copy of the art on MY wall to give you an idea, I would, but this site does not have that option. This was packaged VERY well. I had no problems w/ shipping. As another poster said, it takes a few holes in the wall to get it lined up JUST right, but those of you with laser levels will be fine. I wasn't sure if I was going to like spacing the different pieces apart as shown in the preview on this site, but I did end up doing that anyways, and it works. I recommend this for more than just you modern types, or you monochromatic types. It would look great down a long hallway I think too, which was my 2nd option for hanging it. But you really need to stand back and view it to really appreciate it. I think it would look great hanging above a bed on a large bedroom wall, or even on a long wall in a gray and black bathroom. Nice piece! 5 starts for quality, shipping, and presentation.Read More
Painful installation almost made this a 4, but it just looks too good. The picture fails to capture the dimension of the paint, as well as the white actually being a cream color. The hangers were not completely centered, which made leveling and spacing a trial and error experience. The final result is a 6 foot piece of wall space that I would have likely spent triple filling up with decorations that look half as nice.Read More
Loved the finished product. However, my husband is a prefectionist and believes everything should be level, plum and centered (really good qualities in a contractor), however, these five pieces did not and he had to get out of his "box" and improvise. As you can see thorizon needs to line up in the picture, but the second and fourth pieces if centered with the biggest, middle piece, the horizon was not lining up, so what we did was spread the pieces about an inch and a half apart, and added depth to it by putting wooden blocks of staggered thickness for the middle (1.5 inch block), and 2nd and 4th pieces (.75 inches blocks), leaving the 1st and 5th flush against the wall. With the extra distance between the pieces and the added dimension, no one, except my husband, noticed the pieces did not line up. the finished display looks amazing.Read More
This is a striking canvas set, perfect for our wall which has a small window. It continues the window-view, which happens to be piers as we live by the water. We had to re-drill some of the hangers as they weren't exactly centered, it was well worth the effort. With it being black, ourTV set looks even better as it is also black. The room looks contemporary and everything is in harmony. Packaging was good, nothing was damaged.Read More
