I couldn't figure out what to buy my single son for his 27th b-day. He needed knifes, how boring. I saw this and laughed! He loves it and it is a coversation piece and handy. The knifes are very good quality.

I thought this looked hillarious when I ordered it online, but the joke doesn't quite work when it is sitting in your kitchen. First, it is plastic. For some reason I expected metal. Second, the knives that came in mine were very nice looking and felt good in your hand but were not sharp considering the price. You're paying for novelty, not quality. The unit is all plastic and much larger than I would have expected. There's really nowhere to put it in my kitchen -- not to mention it doesn't match most decor. I wouldn't say this is a bad product, but do sleep on it if you're thinking about getting this -- it isn't your average knife stand!

When I bought this product I was mostly seeking a novelty product and not expecting the quality which I received. The knives themselves are well weighted and consist of one piece of metal. The handles are very comfortable and well sized. The holder actually has magnets in it to guide the knives in to place and hold them there. I especially like the safety and cleanliness provided by the plastic sleeves. The sharpness of the knives was not the best and the base of the knife holder is much larger than I expected. I would not recommend this product if you don't have enough counter space. Again, quick delivery, great price, excellent condition...thanks Overstock.com!

The holder itself is great - it probably wouldn't survive a drop on the floor, but it looks good and is stable on the counter. The knives, however, got rust spots after one washing in the dishwasher. There is nothing in the packaging that says the knives are not dishwasher-safe. I'm thinking about returning the knives to the manufacturer since they are under warranty. So, I'd recommend it to a friend, but with a warning about handwashing the knives.

got this as a gift for an ex. seemed appropriate. he liked it: "the knives are surprisingly sharp." there's some magnetization in the holder where the knifes go in--makes them rest more securely AND provides a little resistance when sticking the knives in (for a more stabby sense). takes up a bit more counter space than the more typical knife block, but looks so much cooler! possible downside is that the holder is all plastic--it's feels sturdy, but wondering how durable it will be.

Everyone loves my new knife set and holder. It may be called "the ex"...and I am happily married...but this is so funny. Everyone comments favorably. I don't know, maybe my friends are I are all twisted! Oh, the knives are a nice quality too. The set is quite large and sturdy. Buy it. I smile everytime I see it:)

I must say this is a great conversation piece, but that being said...the knives have rust on them! I have had this set less than a month and used it several times. The knives are sharp, the display is a hoot, but the knife handles have several rust spots giving them the apperance of being old and very worn. I am very disappointed, for the amount of money I spent on the knives, the reviews they had, I expected more! New knives should not rust!

GROSS!!!! Okay so the stand is absolutely hilarious - also the slits for the knives are magnetic so everything is held in place. As for the knives...they claim to be stainless steel but they get gross spots and are all rusting. Wish I didn't buy this. GROSS!!!

Aside from the comic releif, these knives seem to be nicely made and are very sharp. The holder (if tightened correctly to it's base) is well ballanced and seems sturdy enough. Time will tell if the knives keep their edge, and the holder remains stable, but I'm sure it will be fine so long as it doesn't get thrown around in a spousal battle :) I bought several of these for gifts, and ended up keeping one for myself! It is a large footprint and takes up a bit more counter space than a normal knife holder would, but it's worth it for the laughs and reactions from visitors!! I definitely recommend this for anyone with a sense of humor!

I bought this a year or so ago and love it!!!! I haven't used the knifes that came with the EX because I prefer a higher quality knife but they seem to be great quality and durable. My only complaint is that the guy on top of the base seems unsterdy at times. Not the kind of knife holder you would want if you have children but perfect for the young and fabulous!!!

I bought this as a birthday gift for a friend having boy troubles... she LOVES it! It's an extremely entertaining piece. She assembled it at the restaurant and used it as a centerpiece. Everyone going by had to stop and comment on it. I guess I didn't like that it's made of plastic and much lighter than I expected. It doesn't feel like it was built to last. I don't know what the knives are like but they seem to be decent quality. I probably wouldn't buy this for myself simply becasue it doesn't fit my personality, but I'm sure my friend will get years of entertainment out of it.

I was a bit disappointed when I received this product. I was expecting something made of metal that was a lot smaller. It's a gift, so I don't know the quality of the knives, but it's really big and plastic. The picture made me think it was a lot smaller and I am not sure if my friend will actually have room on his countertop.

Sure, this piece is a little morbid, but not only is it a great conversation piece (and many of our guests have laughed at it), but the knives that come with the set are great, sharp, and are quality knives. I like to cook a lot, and the weight of the knives are ideal. Then, once you are done, just slide the blades back in place - back into the leg, head, or stomach. You'll laugh when you do it! I would say that it's a good price for sound knives and a creative display.

I absolutely love this item! As with the other reviewer, I assumed it was metal although the description clearly states the housing is plastic. A little lighter than I expected as well. It's hollow..... The novelty effect of this item is awesome. I laugh every time I look at it. Agreed, again, the knives are ok quality. Definitely need sharpening but I didn't buy it for the knives. They were a bonus as far as I'm concerned. The plastic sleeves the knives go in are needed but I think the effect will be much better without them so I've opted to remove them from mine. I would totally recommend this product to anyone looking for a novelty item for their kitchen or a very unique gift. If you have a macabre sense of humor you will absolutely love this. If the housing was metal and the knives sharp, I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Super conversation piece... well made and just adorable....purchased several and may be back for more. Great gift idea for anyone and everyone. Very nice for any room in the house or office. It's the perfect item for the person that has everything!
