  • Like a cloth covered brick

    This couch received high marks and reviews. Mind boggling. While it is indeed attractive, it is impossibly uncomfortable. The cushions are so hard my guests actually laugh. And different spots are harder than others. It's just absurd. No wonder it's sold online. If it weren't a small fortune to ship back, I would've. I will live w my poor decision for a few montha and then give this away. Live and learn.

    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. Very average. Thin pile velvet. Cushions are unevenly hard and extremely uncomfortable.

  • Very Firm Sofa

    This sofa is firm. I like a firm sofa, so that is not an issue for me. However, the level of firmness varies among the seat cushions which gives a bumpy feeling to a few areas of the sofa. The quality is about what I expected for a sofa of this price, but I did hope the velvet would just a little more plush.

Are they pre-assembled or is their actually some assembly required? I am wanting to put this in an upstairs area, but the stairway is narrow. If the base and back are separate and have to be put together it will work great. If they are completely pre-assembled then the overall size will create an issue. jrcmdavis on May 27, 2012

I have two questions: 1. What is the fiber content of the 100% velvet? Velvet is a type of fabric construction, not the fiber content. Would like to know if this is polyester or cotton or whatever as I would like it to be cleanable. 2. What is the depth of the sofa minus the chaise part? The fabric is called microfiber plush which is a blend of polyester and cotton. The dimensions of the chaise by itself are: 60" x 30" x 35"H The sofa dimensions are: 85" x 34" x 33"H overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 17, 2012

Yes, the upholstery of this item will be 100% velvet. There will not be any special treatment needed for washing. Unfortunately we do not have an additional pictures available, however. The standup over time would vary depending on use. overstockcustomercare1 on Mar 14, 2012
