This cart is inexpensive and when you remove it from the box, you will know why. It is not wood, but particle board. some on the metal is a bit dented or scratched. In all it looks decent assembled. I am planning to use to to store my kids art supplies so my expectations are not that high. Most of the parts did not fit together easily so I had to use a rubber mallet. Once I realized that it was pretty easy. There are plastic shavings that need to be removed from the sides once you force the metal and plastic pieces together.Photo directions, but if you use some common sense you can figure it out. The directions don't tell you that some piece will only work in one place so some pieces need to be reassembled. I chose not to attach the wheels, since I couldn't get the pieces on anyway. (This was before I thought of the mallet.) The doors are the worst part of the piece. They don't close well and one shelf was missing the holes for the doors so I had to make my own. If the doors are a problem I may ended using the piece without them.Once again, it looks pretty good assembled, but do not expect perfection. It is far from a fine piece of furniture. I was able to assemble it by myself, without my husband's help in about 1 1/2 hours.
