Lovely . Excellent Value for the money and very stable. Ordered Sunday. Processed/Shipped Monday. Arrived Tuesday! I wanted something Pretty but not overly foofoo. Matched all the bolts/washers.. and quickly zipped it together, all tools I needed and parts were included in the box(3 boxes). Light enough for me to move easily into place! Really like how the rails "box" in the mattress.. my last frame constantly dumped the mattress on the floor lol. Bottom of the box springs sits 8 inches off the floor.
The bed is absolutely beautiful! We love it!
My husbandd recently had back surgery and our old mattresses just wasn't cutting it, so we decided to buy a new mattress. We also decide to downgrade from a king to a queen, so we needed a new bed.
It arrived in two different shipments, but within the scheduled delivery date. And, as with most of the reviews I read, the boxes were pretty tore up, but I received all of the hardware. We unpacked each box one at a time and found the bed had been packaged adequately. We were surprised, yet happy, that there were 3 metal slats that attach to the rails and that each had feet to attach to them. This adds extra support (7 total) to take on and distribute weight. We were also happy to find out that each post and rail foot came with a padded bottom so we did not have to add anything to provide scratch protection for our hardwood floors. The posts are metal, along with the rest of the bed, I knew this going in, but they look like wood. My husband and I layed out each piece, and everything was there. It took us about 30 minutes to get it put together. Once it was up, it was awesome. I measured the distance from the box spring to the floor and it is 9". I mention this because no where I looked could I find this measurement. To me, this is important when deciding to get a regular box spring or low profile, and for the overall distance of your bed to the floor. Because I didn't know this measurement, we ordered a normal box spring which sets our bed 30" off the ground. This okay, and I will get used to it, but really higher than it would have liked. This is our primary bed, we sleep in it every night, and it is very sturdy.
Overall, the bed is beautiful, well-made, and we are very happy with it!
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The color of the bed is well represented on the site
Please tell us about the quality of the product. I was very impressed with the quality of the bed
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Okay. Would like to see that the distance from box spring to floor (9"). And that is does come with 3 metal slats, with feet. I looked for these things before I bought and found them on different sites.
Bed arrived in 3 boxes. All 3 had damage with one box being torn fully open. We were shocked to find all the parts still in the boxes! The bed is lovely, a nice centerpiece in a small room. It took my husband about 2 hours to put it together. A bolt was missing from a packaged set, but he found a replacement. The metal slats that attach to the support frame make the bed very sturdy. So far, no squeaks - or maybe the guests aren't telling me!
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The colors are as described.
Love the bed frame. The only problem we had was that it arrived without assembly instructions. A call to customer service solved that and we had the instructions e-mailed to us in a few days. I believe the only reason it took that long was because it was over a holiday weekend. I'm very happy with the purchase.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Color was acurate
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Very sturdy
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Description was relatively accurate, except when they spoke of wooden accent, they aren't actually wood but painted metal to look like wood which was a little confusing. But the description also listed the only material as metal- so that was accurate. It looks very much like wood both in the photo and in real life.
Fast shipping. Boxes were beat-up but product was in fine shape. Missing some of the washers. Took my guy a few hours to put together, but he's the impatient type...the instructions are a bit daunting the way they're written, but the bed comes together pretty easily. The three cross supports make it very stable. Very lightweight. The color is darker than in the pic. It's a pretty bed and looks great in the room. Should last for many years.
I read the reviews before buying and had some concerns, but my purchase went smoothly, was cheaper when compared to other companies that were carrying the bed (seriously I searched high and low for the most inexpensive buy), and really really met my expectations. It is a quality product that is easy to put together. Some of the parts are difficult to distinguish at times...well it was relatively easy for me but I acted in a supervisory role to my dad and brother who actually put the bed together. I could say more but I'll just say BUY IT! If you love the online picture, then you will love the bed. It does not sit too high and it's gorgeous in my room. I am elated with this purchase from overstock...and how often do you get to say that about a major purchase? Happy shopping.
Overstock does it again. This product, like many others I've purchased from Overstock, is beautiful, well made and not overpowering in the room. I will definitely use Overstock again for my home decorating needs.
We ordered this bed frame twice for our daughter... The first time, the pieces were not aligned and did not fit together. Overstock took care of the problem, by picking it up and crediting our account.
My daughter looked and looked at other queen metal bed frames and could not find one she liked better. We have ordered SEVERAL things from Overstock and have not had any issues -- so we ordered it again. The second bed frame fit together perfectly. It's good quality for the price and looks really lovely!

Is this a wood and metal frame bed or are the posts painted. If wood - what type of wood is used?4chrisanddan on Oct 23, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The whole bed is metal except for the top of the posts. The legs are painted like wood, which actually is done well, at least on mine. And the posts are about 7-1/2 inches and seem to be made of a molded resin, painted like wood.debra81 on Oct 23, 2014
The queen bed measurements of 64.24 x 87 seem so much bigger than the queen mattress size of 60 x 80. Seems like too much gap all around - especially the length. Is that normal?Julie on Oct 22, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello Julie, this bed is so beautiful! Yes, it is normal for bed frames to have a slight gap between the mattress and bed frame. I hope this information helps. Thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Oct 22, 2014

No. There are three stabilizing cross bars, no platform that would be required without using a box spring.65clp on Aug 27, 2014
Would it be structurally sound for me to place a foundation for a memory foam mattress on top of the 3 slats and then the memory foam mattress on top? (aka no box spring system). Thanks!nyker1234 on Aug 11, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

So, from this Q&A, I've gathered that most people have complained about lack of support as this bed has only 3 horizontal slats. Is there any way I could buy a vertical slat and make it supportive enough that I won't have to have a box spring? (I don't want my bed too high). Or could I not use the slats at all and put a foundation in instead with just the mattress on top?sshy731 on Jul 26, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello sshy731, unfortunately, this style bed does not come in a platform style. You need a boxspings, as the 3 slats are not enough support without. We hope this helps, and thank you for shopping with us.

I have a high profile box spring and a regular profile queen mattress....how high would this bed be off the floor?pols3 on Jul 19, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I have the same set up and I'm 5'7. The mattress is at the perfect height.goodgriefgrannie on Jul 25, 2014
Hello pols3, the space from the floor to the box spring and mattress is 8.62 inches. Thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Jul 25, 2014
Yes, you will. It only has three slats running horizontally so I think a mattress would sag through them without a box spring. This is a design oversight in my opinion because if they'd added a fourth slat running vertically that would probably have been enough to support a mattress. It would have been worth it even if it had added a little to the cost as buyers could have saved on a box spring. Also, the box spring makes the bed much higher than it appears in the photo.pearlclutcher on Jul 13, 2014
Personally, I have a box springs on mine, it does make the height too tall for my Papillons to get on the bed without stairs. There are some cross supports, but I don't think I'd trust them to support a mattress.momdgaf on Jul 14, 2014
Yes, it has three rods horizontally, so a board or box spring is neededpinkieoutlinie on Jul 19, 2014

Do I need to purchase a bed frame with this or do the box spring and mattress sit right on the rails?carendina71 on Jun 21, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I'm confused... if you buy this-you're buying a bed frame, so your question kind of makes little sense. You need a mattress and a box spring, which sit on this bed frame via the rails included with the frame. The item includes a headboard, foot board, side rails, four support rails that connect to the main frame rails (3 side to side, 1 top to bottom).socalshopper2008 on Jun 25, 2014
No the rails and cross bars come with it so the box spring sits right on them.johnsmom1 on Aug 7, 2014
Ok, I have read through all he Q&A's. And, I still have a question? I have a standard memory foam mattress that sits on a box spring, they both measure 60x80. The frame of this Queen set is wider & longer. Does this adjust to fit the size of a standard Queen set? I don't want gaps or hangover.sissyseattle on Jun 20, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I have a standard queen memory foam mattress and box spring, it fits fine on this bed frame. There are small gaps at the head/foot--enough to make the bed really. The frame doesn't adjust, but should fit your box spring/mattress fine just as any other frame.socalshopper2008 on Jun 25, 2014
