Purchased these bunk beds for my grandgirls. I was very impressed with the quality of these beds. Instructions were easy to following and the main tools is included with the hardware. The hardware comes in a box in individual packages, very nice touch. Received the package and was afraid of what shape the product would be in, (after reading some of the previous reviews), package was received with no damage to any part of the product. After assembly of the beds, there is hardly any motion when the grandgirls are on them. Very happy with the purchase.

I had high hopes for this bunk bed set. It said some assembly required...well...their was a TON of assembly required. I did not have a lot of money to spend and thought this would have been a good way to go. After it took forever to assemble all the million parts the bed is sturdy...I guess the thing that kills me is the wood scratches so easily. I have three sons...granted they are rough and tumble...but you would hope it could withstand a little regular "boy" rough housing. We have had it for a couple of months and the scratches are horrible...it looks bad...and makes me mad that we just didn't go to IKEA. Oh well...I will know next time. This is a sturdy safe bunk bed...but it will not stay nice looking for very long.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Color is the same

Bought these beds for my 5 and 6 year old. Arrived and was easily assembled. Had a few manufacturer blemishes in the wood but otherwise nice bed. The color is more orange then it appears online. Less then 8 weeks later the side rail of the lower bunkbed snapped around a small knot in the wood; making the whole unit structurally unsound. The children weigh less than 100 lbs total and no rough housing took place on the bed. The break happened during normal use. I contacted overstock customer service. They stated it was out of the return period, they gave me the contact info for the manufacturer. The manufacturer cs was horrible, at first they wouldn't take my order for replacement parts, stating overstock had to do it. Then they said the bed was discontinued, a 3rd rep stated the bed was on back order for 7-9 weeks. I contacted overstock again because my children could not be without a bed for months. OS stated the bed was out of stock, but they are shipping comparable beds as a replacement. Overstocks customer service is awesome! I would not purchase these beds but I will continue to buy from overstock!
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? More orange
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Good
Can the top bunk safety rail and ladder be placed on the other side of the bed as shown from the picture? For example, in the picture, the head of the bed is to the right. I would place the head to the left, so the safety rail and ladder would need to be on the opposite side of the bunk. Can you attach it to either side? Thanks.lucia100 on Aug 30, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello lucia100, you are not able to switch the ladder side as the droll holes are only on the one side. Thank you for shopping with us!overstockcustomercare1 on Sep 5, 2014
What is the maximum thickness the mattress can be on the top bunk (for safety reasons)?ljkma on Apr 17, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello, ljkma, The maximum weight limit of 200 pounds is for each bed. The height of the mattress is a personal choice. Keep in mind, this doesn't need a box springs, just the mattress. We hope this helps and thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 18, 2014
It says the set includes: Complete top bunk, complete bottom bunk, two (2) complete sets of rails, two (2) complete platform slats
Does 2 complete sets of rails mean 4 total, one rail for each side of both beds? Or 2 total, meaning one for both sides of top bunk? We are graduating from toddler beds to twins, but still tend to roll off the bed completely (well, my 3 year olds do, I usually don't), so curious how many rails are available when using as two separate twin beds. Thank you!srkaelin on Apr 10, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello srkaelin, there is a rail on both sides of the top bunk. Have a great day!overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 11, 2014
The instructions included doesn't explain how the beds would be put together as separate twins. Is there any different, i.e. switching the headboard/footboards?briannek on Apr 30, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello briannek, I am very sorry but we do not have access to that information at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on May 8, 2013
Keep in mind that the only thing that makes these bunk beds are the four metal rods that go in the bottom post between the botton and top bunks. If you want two separate twins, just remove the top bunk side guard rails.troyjones on Jun 7, 2013

I noticed the description of the beds says there are two sets of rails. Does this mean you can have protective rails on the top and bottom beds?uncleshawn on Mar 17, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The rails that are discussed in the product details are for the mattress to rest on. It does not come with two safety guard rails that attach to the side of the bed.overstockcustomercare1 on Mar 20, 2013
